Gold price re-established record, increased by more than 3 million VND/tael in a week

In the last trading session of the week, the world gold price increased by nearly 30 USD/ounce, to 3,085.7 USD/ounce, the highest level in history because investors increased their gold purchases due to concerns about risks that could come from global trade tensions.

In the domestic market, businesses listed SJC gold bars at VND98.4 million/tael (buy) - VND100.7 million/tael (sell), an increase of VND200,000/tael (buy) and VND500,000/tael (sell) compared to the end of the previous day.

For gold rings, Saigon Jewelry Company Limited listed the price at VND98.2 million/tael (buy) - VND100.4 million/tael (sell), VND100,000/tael (buy) and VND300,000/tael (sell) higher than the previous day.

Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited increased to 98.9 million VND/tael (buy) - 100.9 million VND/tael (sell).

Thus, the price of SJC gold bars has re-established the record level recorded on March 28 at 100.7 million VND/tael and gold rings have re-established the record level of 100.9 million VND/tael recorded on March 20.

Looking back at domestic gold prices, on the first day of the week, March 24, SJC gold bar prices increased by VND700,000/tael (buying) and VND200,000/tael (selling), to VND95.1 million/tael (buying) - VND97.6 million/tael (selling).

The next day, the gold price initially decreased by 200,000 VND/tael but then increased again, higher than the end of the previous day by 800,000 VND/tael (buying price) and 300,000 VND/tael (selling price), up to 95.9 million VND/tael (buying price) - 97.9 million VND/tael (selling price).

By March 26, the world gold price increased, causing the domestic precious metal price to increase by another VND800,000/tael (buying price) and VND500,000 million/tael (selling price), reaching VND96.7 million/tael (buying price) - VND98.4 million/tael (selling price).

The increase in gold prices has not stopped when on March 27, it reached 97.4 million VND/tael (buy) - 98.9 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 700,000 VND/tael (buy) and 500,000 VND/tael (sell).

Notably, the next day, the gold price skyrocketed by VND800,000 (buying price) and VND1.3 million/tael (selling price), up to VND98.2 million/tael (buying price) - VND100.2 million/tael (selling price), at one point re-establishing the record level of VND100.7 million/tael.

The price of gold rings also moved upward. If at the end of last week, the price of gold rings was 94.3-95.8 million VND/tael (buy) and 97-98.5 million VND/tael (sell), then today it is 98.2-98.9 million VND/tael (buy) and 100.4-100.9 million VND/tael (sell).

With the above developments, the price of SJC gold bars has increased by 3.3 million VND/tael; the price of gold rings has increased by 2.3-3.4 million VND/tael compared to the end of last week.
