The Hundred Good Deeds Festival, held on the occasion of the Hung Kings’ death anniversary and in March – the Mother Goddess Festival month of the Mother Goddess worship – has been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This is the third year the festival has been held, aiming to revive the nation’s tradition of remembering its source. This is also a time to remind Vietnamese people to show gratitude to their parents and honor moral, historical and cultural values.
The festival featured performances honoring Vietnamese culture and history by singers Anh Tho, Vu Thang Loi, and Le Anh Dung. The highlight of the festival was the ceremony to honor parents, in which many disciples brought their parents to the festival to express their respect, love, and gratitude for their parents' upbringing.

According to Master Huyen Tich, the head of the Co Be Ngai Vang Temple: This is not only an occasion to show gratitude to parents but also a day for everyone, especially the younger generation, to learn and understand more about filial piety, family values, and love and sharing. The festival will also help connect the community, creating a warm and meaningful space for everyone to remember their roots and cherish what they have.
At the opening ceremony, Professor of History Le Van Lan said that the Hundred Good Deeds Festival, Hieu Vi Tien, has brought the connotation of filial piety into the connotation of the Vietnamese people's belief in worshipping the Three and Four Palaces. This is of great significance and should be spread and replicated. According to Dr. Bui The Duc, Vice Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art, in the current social context, when value systems are disrupted, there are many problems, especially for the young generation, promoting and upholding filial piety is especially meaningful. Filial piety and filial piety need to be reminded and paid attention to, filial piety is a necessary condition for family stability and sustainable social development. This festival represents a beautiful spirit of the Vietnamese people, touching the wishes and aspirations of many people.
The festival not only has traditional rituals, but also expands with artistic activities such as organizing a poetry writing contest, to honor filial figures in Vietnamese history. Among the artistic performances, there are popular songs such as: "Vietnamese Filial Piety", "Hundred Good Deeds, Filial Piety Comes First"... with diverse musical materials, from modern to traditional such as pop ballads, contemporary folk songs, Xam or Northwest melodies. Through the poetry writing contest, the Organizing Committee hopes to build stories about filial piety of Vietnamese people, thereby raising awareness of filial piety in modern society.
