Thus, today's gold price dropped sharply in the domestic market following the downward trend of world gold prices.

Gold prices held at a two-week low after new data showed better-than-expected growth in the U.S. economy, boosting the dollar and higher bond yields, but sending non-yielding assets like gold to their biggest weekly loss this year, according to cnbc.com.

However, by 2:49 a.m. (GMT), or 9:49 a.m. (Hanoi time) on July 28, spot gold had increased by 0.3% to $1,951.19 an ounce, after hitting its lowest level since July 12 and ending 1.4% lower in the previous session. So far this week, bullion prices have decreased by 0.4%, heading for the biggest weekly decline since June 23.

Analysts have slightly lowered their gold price forecasts for this year, a Reuters poll showed. Global economic concerns also reduced platinum and palladium price forecasts for 2024.
