Rice price today March 27: Fresh rice turns to increase

Rice prices today, March 27, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated slightly. The market volume is quite good, prices of all types of rice are relatively stable, some fresh rice products turned to increase slightly compared to mid-week.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently, IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 7,700 - 7,800 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice fluctuates at 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuates at 8,600 - 8,750 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

As for by-products, the price of by-products fluctuates from 6,600 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice 3-4 fluctuates at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; the price of bran decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, fluctuating at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, the quantity is more, the price of all kinds of rice is stable. In An Giang, the quantity is quite good, the warehouse still buys fragrant rice regularly, the transaction of common white rice is slow. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the quantity is quite good, the warehouse buys regularly, the price is stable.

Sa Dec market channel (Dong Thap), the volume is small, the warehouse buys regularly, easy to trade, the price is relatively stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the volume is quite good, the finished fragrant rice is beautiful, the factory offers a higher price, the transaction is moderate, the price is stable.

At retail markets, the prices of all types of rice remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND15,000-16,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000-22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice fluctuates at VND22,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND18,000-20,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice fluctuates at VND22,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice fluctuates at VND21,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; Soc regular rice fluctuates at VND18,000/kg; Soc Thai rice is priced at VND21,000/kg; Japanese rice is priced at VND22,000/kg.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,800 - 5,900 VND/kg; the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuated between 6,400 - 6,500 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuated between 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuated between 5,500 - 5,800 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice was at 6,300 - 6,500 VND/kg.

In many localities today, the supply is less, the buying and selling is slow. In Soc Trang, the supply of wild rice is usually quite good, farmers offer hot offers for fragrant rice, buying and selling transactions are steady. In An Giang, the supply of rice has decreased in some areas, buying and selling transactions are slow, rice prices have increased slightly.

In Kien Giang, farmers' prices increased, demand for Japonia rice was high, prices of other types of rice remained stable. In Bac Lieu, rice supply was abundant, traders asked to buy a lot of fragrant rice, prices were stable. In Dong Thap, farmers' prices for fragrant rice increased, buying and selling transactions were steady, prices fluctuated little.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today remained unchanged from yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 400 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 369 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 325 USD/ton.
