3km of National Highway 1A through Ha Tinh will be paved in the second quarter of 2025.

"This location was previously constructed with cement concrete, but after a long period of operation, the concrete cracked. Therefore, we recently included it in the plan and the Department of Roads also approved to pave the entire 3km. It is expected that construction will begin in the second quarter of 2025 with a total investment of nearly 70 billion VND," said this leader.

Previously, in early April 2024, Giao Thong Newspaper reported the article: "Why has the 3km section of National Highway 1A through Ha Tinh not been paved yet?".

Specifically, on National Highway 1A from Km 561+230 - Km 563+800 through Ky Thu commune, Ky Anh district, the road surface is made of cement concrete. After a long time of use, this section of the route is often damaged and degraded, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.

The 3km road surface constructed with cement concrete will be replaced with asphalt concrete.

According to local people, this section of road is nearly 3km long, due to the high traffic volume on the route, the cement concrete layer is often cracked and broken. Although it is regularly repaired by the road maintenance unit, after a short time, everything is back to normal.

Mr. Vo Viet Tien - Head of Traffic Management Department, Joint Stock Company 456 (the unit that manages and regularly maintains the road) said that the reason this section was previously made of cement concrete pavement was because this section was often flooded before.

According to Mr. Tien, because it is made of cement concrete, plus the high traffic volume, the concrete section often cracks, so the unit regularly assigns workers to reinforce and repair it to ensure safety for vehicles.

The most recent periodic repair project was in 2019 but only patched up locally and on a small scale. Recently, in March 2024, the unit proactively repaired severely damaged areas of about 350 square meters.
