Specifically, there are more than 30 enterprises with nearly 40,000 employees still going to work. Most of them are foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises, specializing in the production of electronic components and solar panels.

"Last August, the number of workers going to work was about 190,000 people, the highest ever. Compared to the same period last year, it increased by more than 20,000 workers.
In the first 8 months of the year, Bac Giang's industrial index increased by over 15% compared to last year due to the current good orders. In the past 3 months, enterprises in the industrial park have needed to recruit nearly 30,000 more workers," Mr. Cuong added.
Employees working on holidays are entitled to salary and insurance benefits in accordance with current Vietnamese laws.
With 4 days off for National Day September 2, according to regulations in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, these are holidays and Tet and employees are off work and receive full pay.
Based on the above provisions, in case an enterprise agrees and arranges for employees to work on National Day, it must pay overtime wages at a rate of at least 300% as prescribed in Point c, Clause 1, Article 98 of the Labor Code.
Thus, overtime pay on September 2nd holiday of employees will be equal to 300% + 100% of holiday pay = 400%.
In case an enterprise arranges for employees to work overtime at night, in addition to paying wages according to the provisions in Clause 1 and Clause 2, Article 98, it must also pay the employee an additional 20% of the wages according to the provisions in Clause 3, Article 98 of the Labor Code.
Night working hours are calculated from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following day, as prescribed in Article 106 of the Labor Code.
