On the day of reunion, the man realized that his parents' house was only 20km away from where he was living.
On the morning of May 3, 2024, Mr. Sun Jianping, who lost his biological parents 70 years ago, finally returned to the house where he was born in Wuxi city (Jiangsu province, China).
In front of villagers and relatives, Mr. Binh hugged his family and cried: "I can't believe I finally found my family after 70 years apart. It was very difficult for me to return here."
Parents leave their children to be raised by others.
Mr. Binh was separated from his biological parents when he was only 2.5 months old. His adoptive mother, Ms. Ton Hoa Tran, said that she found Mr. Binh in a bamboo basket at the entrance of the Wuxi National Cotton Factory. The basket had his date of birth written on it: October 23, 1954 (lunar calendar).
Perhaps Mr. Binh's biological parents knew a little about the situation of Mrs. Ton Hoa Tran's family, so they clearly stated in the note they left behind that they wanted Mrs. Hoa Tran to adopt their son. Their situation at that time was too difficult, they could not raise a child.

Ms. Sun Hezhen was a cotton factory worker at the time. After much deliberation and listening to the advice of her colleagues, she and her husband decided to adopt the child and named him Sun Jianping, according to QQ.
Mr. Ton Kien Binh said that although his adoptive parents loved him very much, he always felt regretful and wanted to find his biological family.
After many years of settling down, his children had their own families, his wife and daughter understood his feelings and encouraged him to find his family again.
In 2010, they heard that an elderly couple living near Yinglong Bridge in Wuxi City knew about the incident, so they went to ask.
The elderly couple did not remember much about the past, but they said that Mr. Sun Jianping was probably born in Wenlin Town, Jiangyin County, Wuxi.
Listening to them, Mr. Binh's family went to Van Lam town to ask but got no results.
Looking for relatives
On December 14, 2023, the Jiangyin County Family Search Volunteer Association coordinated with the police to help Mr. Binh's case. His blood sample was taken to carry out the search.

On March 13, a volunteer from the Association and three others went to search for information but got no results.
On their way back, they happened to meet a woman. After chatting, they discovered that the family they were looking for seemed to be related to this woman's family.
As soon as they arrived at the woman's house and saw the photo hanging on the wall, the volunteer team immediately recognized that it was a relative of Mr. Ton Kien Binh because her face looked exactly like Mr. Binh's.
The woman said that her husband's parents had passed away. She had also heard her mother-in-law talk about leaving behind a son in Wuxi, who was about 70 years old this year.
At that time, the person believed to be Mr. Sun Jianping's brother had just returned home. After talking, he cooperated with the volunteer to take a blood test.
On April 21, the volunteer called Mr. Kien Binh to tell him the good news. He burst into tears on the phone when he learned that he had found his family. In addition to his brother, Mr. Binh has a younger sister who lives nearby.

Reunited with his family, Mr. Binh was very happy. Seeing his brother and sister, he could not stop crying and expressed his gratitude to the Volunteer Association and the police force. He was only a little sad that his parents were no longer around to witness this meaningful moment.
The place where Mr. Binh's family lives is only 20km from his adoptive parents' house, but it took him 70 years to find it again.
