The first holiday is the Hung Kings Commemoration Day. Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code stipulates that employees are entitled to a day off with full pay on the Hung Kings Commemoration Day, which is on the 10th day of the third lunar month.
This year, Hung King's Commemoration Day falls on Monday, April 7th. Therefore, employees can take a 2-day or 3-day holiday.
Employees will have 3 consecutive days off including 1 holiday and 2 weekend days for agencies and businesses that have a fixed schedule of Saturday and Sunday every week. Accordingly, employees will have 3 consecutive days off from Saturday, April 5 to Monday, April 7.
Employees will have 2 consecutive days off during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, including 1 holiday and 1 weekend day for agencies and businesses that only have a fixed weekly Sunday off schedule. Accordingly, employees will have 2 days off: Sunday, April 6 and Monday, April 7.
The second holiday in April is the April 30th Victory Day holiday, which will be followed by the May 1st International Labor Day holiday.
According to Article 112 of the Labor Code, employees are entitled to take days off with full pay on Victory Day, April 30, and International Labor Day, May 1. This year, April 30 falls on Wednesday and May 1 falls on Thursday. Therefore, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has issued Notice 6150/TB-BLDTBXH on the swap of working days from Friday, May 2 to Saturday, April 26 for civil servants and public employees.
Holiday schedule for Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025.
During the Victory Day holiday of April 30 and International Labor Day of May 1 in 2025, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Wednesday, April 30 to Sunday, May 4 and will have to work on Saturday, April 26.
For employees working in enterprises, the number of days off will be decided by the employer, but must still ensure that employees have at least 2 days off according to regulations.
