The 27-year-old goalkeeper is set to leave the Community Stadium this summer and has rejected two offers from Brentford to extend his stay. David Raya now has just 12 months left on his contract with the Bees.
Tottenham were the first team to express their desire to have Raya's services. MU also joined to bring competition for David de Gea.
However, the deal is at a dead end as Brentford are demanding a fee of £40m.
MU and Spurs are not willing to sit down at the negotiating table, because they think the asking price is too high compared to the fact that the goalkeeper only has one year left on his contract.
David Raya's agent has said his client will play until the end of his contract and leave as a free agent next year if Brentford do not agree to sell him this summer.
Manager Thomas Frank is also preparing for the possibility of losing the Spanish goalkeeper, after bringing in Mark Flekken from Freiburg for £11m.
As for MU, they are waiting for De Gea to sign a contract extension and then will allow Den Henderson to join Nottingham Forest for a fee of 30 million pounds including additional fees.

English teams interested in Nicolo Barella
Sources from Italy say MU are considering signing midfielder Nicolo Barella, one of the most important players in bringing Inter to the Champions League final.
SportMediaset , Barella has the potential to become one of the most prominent players in the transfer market this summer.
Inter reached the European Cup final, but the economic aspect remains a big problem. Therefore, the club does not rule out the possibility of selling high-priced players like Barella.
For several months now, there has been interest from a number of English football clubs in Barella, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle.
Liverpool have just completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister so could pull out.
Newcastle's reputation is not as good even though they are back in the Champions League, so the race could become an internal Manchester affair between MU and Man City.

Benjamin Pavard wants to move to England to play
The Red Devils are reportedly considering a move for Benjamin Pavard as Bayern Munich could let the France international leave immediately for around €30-40m.
The German football giants spent around 35 million Euros to bring Pavard from Stuttgart in 2019 and the defender has been an important part of the Bavarians' squad ever since.
The 27-year-old, who was involved in eight goals for Bayern Munich in all competitions last season, is out of contract in 2024.
Transfer expert Fabrizo Romano once revealed that Benjamin Pavard really wants to move to the Premier League to play football.
Sky Sports reports that Pavard “definitely wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer” and “he will be allowed to leave Bayern immediately” and that the Bundesliga club are “demanding a transfer fee of 30-40 million Euros”.
According to this source, Real Madrid, Barca, MU and Man City and many other clubs want Benjamin Pavard.
MU currently has Diogo Dalot and Wan-Bissaka at right-back. Athletic newspaper commented that "upgrading" Wan Bissaka is mandatory if the Red Devils want to compete for titles.
