When sharing with The World and Vietnam Newspaper , National Assembly Deputy Nguyen Thi Viet Nga once said that each individual can spend less time and effort on the virtual world to live more with their real family. We should not only strive to give our children a full material life, but also pay more attention to giving them a beautiful spiritual life.

Indeed, in today's era, families are faced with many challenges. That is the distance between members is widened due to the impact of technology and the Internet.

Modern life, along with respect for privacy between individuals in the family, when more time is spent on work, it means less time for family and relatives. That means the distance between husband and wife, between parents and children becomes "widened".

Family is considered the first and most important place in shaping human personality. However, many families are over-investing in material things for their children's future. There are parents who are willing to fully satisfy all their children's wishes and material demands. Many people even believe that sending their children to good schools, providing them with adequate learning facilities, and taking them on vacations every summer... is giving them the best and highest quality life.

There is a reality that not everyone realizes, that is, children need more care, love, and sharing from their parents. Children need to gather with their parents during dinner, on weekends, need to rest, not just run after studying to achieve high results, to get into specialized schools, to pass top universities...

In modern times, why do many children feel lonely and lost in their own homes? Why do many young people become selfish, not close to or caring for their parents and grandparents? Why do many young people become insensitive, only knowing how to demand and not knowing how to share and love their loved ones?

Is it because their parents only provide them with material things, meet all their needs and demands, but they have not been educated much about personality, how to behave with people around them, how to give and receive? Is it because adults still do not spend much time "caring" for their home? Are we "consuming" too much time and energy on the virtual world? Besides material things, do we forget the importance of sharing, listening and understanding among family members?

Family education is the most important factor, the foundation for each person to develop and stand firm in society. If we want children to become useful, responsible, and loving people, we need to teach them how to behave and practice with them from a young age. Parents should not rush out into society to earn money, just to provide their children with a full material life.

It can be said that today's families are more materially complete but lack moments together, sharing and empathy. It is not difficult to see in many families that each person owns a smartphone and pursues different thoughts and interests.

Families today are smaller in size and communicate less. The burden of making ends meet and the convenience of technology are some of the reasons for the growing distance between family members. As someone said, families are becoming less stable due to the “impact” of material values.

So what fuel is needed to build family happiness? How can we shorten the distance between family members when the market economy and pragmatic lifestyle create many problems in family behavior culture?

Many experts believe that family education is exemplary education. The important thing is to let children inherit a healthy environment from an early age. To do so, good messages must be spread from the places and people closest to them. In other words, the family is the first school, influencing and shaping the lifestyle and behavior of each individual in the future.

An important factor in family culture is equality, respect, and listening among members. It is not only the habit of sharing housework and regular connection, but also the attitude of considering children as responsible people is an extremely important factor. In addition, parents need to agree on a plan for their children to grow up, prepare and give them experiences about life.

Above all, we need to pay attention to ethical and cultural issues to make our homes more stable against the impact of the economy. Modern technology is effectively serving all needs but also making people afraid of communicating in real life. Smartphones make people busier every day. But don't rush to blame technology, the fault lies with the users themselves who are losing control and being dominated by technology.

It can be said that the root of family culture is not far away but lies in love, respect and care for each other. The relationship between members needs to be cared for every day to be sustainable. Children are like trees that need to be watered and fertilized to grow well. If you want children to grow up to be useful, kind and loving, they must be educated, listened to, understood and respected, not just provided with material things.
