Start a business with the mindset of "dare to think, dare to do"
Ms. Dong started her livestock farming journey in 2004 on a small scale. In 2009, seeing the changes in the market and the daring mindset, she and her husband opened an agency specializing in providing feed and breeding animals in village 3, Tien Tho commune. After many years of effort, she expanded her livestock farming scale to 2,000 pigs and successfully built the Nguyen Thi Dong brand specializing in distributing animal feed and breeding animals of Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd.
With her passion and dedication to the profession, she constantly researches and selects quality livestock products to serve people. In 2010, through training programs, she learned about super pigs, a high-yield pig produced by the company with the ability to grow quickly, have delicious meat quality and large weight. "This breed of pig is suitable for the climate and soil conditions here, so it grows very well. Compared to traditional pigs, super pigs help farmers reduce production costs and increase profits," Ms. Dong shared.

Realizing the outstanding potential, she pioneered the introduction of new pig breeds for breeding and expanding them locally. At first, to convince people to trust her, she and her husband boldly invested in a contract breeding model, providing breeds and feed for experimental breeding. People without experience were given on-site guidance on pig care techniques, vaccination, and ensuring biosafety, etc. The transfer of knowledge helped people become more confident in applying new breeding methods.
Sharing the secret of effective livestock farming, Ms. Dong said that she trusts Japfa's piglets and feed to help pigs grow quickly, reaching an average of 110-120kg when sold. Moreover, when cooperating with Japfa, she received enthusiastic advice and support from the company's market staff and technical team. "The livestock farming profession is not always smooth, there will be difficult periods. The important thing is that Japfa's companionship throughout the business process helps agents feel secure in expanding the market. In particular, the cooperation with Japfa has achieved remarkable successes, with output increasing year by year," she commented.
Continuing the journey with local farmers
Looking back on her career, Ms. Dong is always proud to have the trust and support of local farmers and neighboring areas. “Since starting the business, the agency has only gained more customers and has not lost any,” she shared. Such trust is also thanks to the enthusiastic support of the agency from technical advice, providing quality breeds and feed to product consumption.

In 2024, she coordinated with the commune to bring 800 super pigs to the people, and so far this number has brought good profits and income to the people in the area.
Ms. Dong's contributions have been recognized by authorities at all levels and functional agencies with many awards such as: "Outstanding achievements in the 12th emulation movement of excellent farmers in production and business in Tien Phuoc district, period 2014-2017" and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union "Emulation movement of excellent farmers in production and business, solidarity to help people get rich and sustainably reduce poverty in the period 2017-2022".
