On the morning of April 1, at Xeo Nhau fishing port (Tan Thanh commune, An Minh district, Kien Giang), Kien Giang Provincial Fisheries Association and Kien Giang Provincial Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control coordinated with local authorities to organize the release of juveniles into natural waters on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of Vietnam Fisheries Traditional Day (April 1, 1959 - April 1, 2025).

According to the organizers, this year's event had nearly 100 organizations and individuals, mainly from the districts of U Minh Thuong, including An Minh, An Bien, U Minh Thuong and Vinh Thuan districts, actively contributing nearly 10 million shrimp and crab seeds to release into the natural environment, regenerating resources. This is an extremely meaningful work, contributing to the regeneration of aquatic resources in nature, for today and tomorrow.
According to Mr. Quang Trong Thao, Chairman of the Kien Giang Province Fisheries Association, for many years now, on the occasion of the traditional anniversary of Vietnam Fisheries Day, the Kien Giang Province Fisheries Association has coordinated with the provincial Veterinary Management Agency and the People's Committee of An Minh District to mobilize people and businesses to enthusiastically participate in organizing the release of aquatic products to regenerate natural resources with millions of shrimp, crabs and parent shrimps.

“Releasing fish to breed aquatic products is a practical and important activity to restore and raise awareness of protecting aquatic resources, exploit aquatic resources reasonably, and contribute to increasing income for fishermen in coastal areas. This will help develop the marine economy sustainably and protect the marine environment,” Mr. Thao affirmed.

This year, celebrating the 66th anniversary of the Fisheries Industry's traditional day, the Kien Giang Province Fisheries Association, in coordination with the Department of Fisheries - Fisheries Control and specialized agencies, local authorities of An Minh, An Bien, U Minh Thuong and Vinh Thuan districts, actively mobilized and received enthusiastic participation from people working in the fisheries industry inside and outside the province.
