Tourism develops strongly in Mong Cai border area

Mong Cai City is making strong strides in the tourism sector, becoming one of the attractive destinations for domestic and foreign tourists. This is thanks to effective solutions in exploiting the potential and special advantages of geographical location, landscape, history; the infrastructure system is gradually being invested in to be completed and modernized.

The coastal walking path system and infrastructure of Tra Co National Tourist Area (Mong Cai City) have been invested in and upgraded to serve tourism activities.

It can be affirmed that 2024 has marked many vibrant and positive marks of tourism activities in Mong Cai City, truly making a breakthrough after a period of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Many large and small programs and events have taken place throughout the year, attracting a large number of tourists to the land of the headland. Typically, the program "Sea and islands at the headland of the Northeast" was held for the first time, contributing to promoting the tourism image of Mong Cai City and the two island communes of Vinh Trung and Vinh Thuc. Here, nearly 400 athletes participated in the running race and cycling journey to explore the cross-island route. Meanwhile, people and tourists can freely experience team building games, local culture; or visit and shop at the introduction points of agricultural products, OCOP of the island region... Many tourism businesses have also proactively connected to organize new tours to this address.

Mong Cai City has directed to focus on maximizing the city's potential, advantages, and tourism resources, diversifying new tourism products, bringing unique values to the culture, land, and people of Mong Cai. Typical examples include: Walking street, culinary street, Hai Son - Bac Son experiential tourism, Tra Co - Binh Ngoc - Vinh Thuc - Vinh Trung resort, self-driving tourist cars across the border, experiencing community tourism and fishermen's lives in island communes... The city's tourism revenue will reach over 8,000 billion VND; the state budget contribution for services and tourism is estimated at over 250 billion VND, an increase of over 80% compared to 2023...
