In the tourism business, promotion and advertising activities play a very important role, considered a lever for development. Determining this, Nghe An Tourism industry has actively participated and organized propaganda, promotion and mobilization to seek development opportunities. Opening the activities of the 2023 tourism season, Nghe An Tourism industry attended the VITM Hanoi International Tourism Fair to introduce and promote tourism products in the province, inviting travel companies to cooperate in bringing and welcoming guests.
In particular, within the framework of the fair, Nghe An Tourism Department coordinated with the Tourism Departments of Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh provinces to organize a Promotion Conference with the theme "One journey - Four localities - Many experiences".

With the message "Nghe An - Returning to the region of Vi and Giam", the provincial tourism sector organized for delegates to visit the exhibition space of publications, documents, leaflets, brochures, items, and products introducing tourism, trade, and investment; tourism gift products, local specialties, and introducing new products, typical events, and the province's 2023 stimulus program.
In particular, focusing on promoting, advertising, introducing products, tourist attractions, tours to explore walking streets and night cuisine in Vinh city, Cua Lo town and beach resort services combined with visiting historical and cultural relics.

Strengthening the introduction of tourism products to attract visitors to the Western districts such as: Experiencing kayaking on the tea island (Thanh Chuong); conquering the 2,720m high Puxailaileng peak, exploring the Tay Nghe route; experiencing cloud hunting, peach and plum picking, exploring the Vietnam - Laos border market (Ky Son); trekking - mountain biking from Pha Lai, Xieng village to Co Phat village, Mon Son commune (Con Cuong); experiencing farmstays associated with the new rural tourism program; staying at homestays and cultural exchanges with the community in Thai and Mong villages...
In order to expand cooperation and develop tourism, at the end of May, Nghe An province organized a Famtrip delegation to survey tourist routes and destinations and work in Gwangju city, Korea. The delegation worked with the Tourism Association, Business Association, and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Gwangju city to discuss cooperation in building and selling tourism products to serve Korean tourists to Nghe An and Vietnamese tourists to Gwangju city.
Propose that Gwangju city government soon develop a plan to open a charter flight to Nghe An, creating favorable conditions for tourists and trade activities between the two sides according to the signed minutes.

Some outstanding activities in promoting and promoting tourism in Nghe An include welcoming and guiding the Ho Chi Minh City Famtrip delegation; the delegation of businesses belonging to the Hanoi Unesco Travel Club to survey destinations in the area. This is an important content in implementing the tourism development cooperation agreement between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the extended North Central region to connect and build products and tour programs for tourists on the journey back to the source, back to the Central region.
Next is the lotus dish making contest to promote the beauty of Nghe An culinary culture and the appeal of dishes originating from the rustic countryside; launching a contest to create logos and slogans for Nghe An tourism. In addition, the tourism industry regularly coordinates with central and local press agencies, using social networks to promote and advertise tourism potential, the image of Nghe An land and people.

In the first 6 months of the year, the total number of tourists reached 4,900,000 (equal to 122% compared to the same period in 2022), of which the number of overnight visitors reached 3,160,000, equal to 125% compared to the same period in 2022; international visitors reached 32,500; total revenue from tourists reached 11,491 billion VND (equal to 142% compared to the same period in 2022). This result has an important contribution from the work of propaganda, promotion and tourism promotion.
Define a clear direction
Preparing to launch this year's tourist season, Nghe An Tourism has opened many training courses to improve the quality of human resources, meeting the increasing needs of tourists. Because from 2022, implementing the restoration and reopening of tourism activities under "new normal" conditions, a large number of workers in the tourism sector have switched to other industries, leading to a serious shortage of human resources.
By 2023, human resources have been improved, but due to concerns about both quantity and quality, the tourism industry has organized specialized training courses such as: Communication skills, management, room, desk, reception, tour guide for localities and tourism businesses. Thereby, ensuring service quality, creating a good impression on tourists.

In tourism development, the development of new local products is extremely important in attracting and "retaining" tourists. In 2023, Nghe An Tourism Department conducted a survey and developed new products to promote tourism growth. Specifically, the Department of Tourism organized a delegation to survey and develop tourism products in Anh Son, Con Cuong and Tuong Duong districts.
In particular, focusing on surveying some points in Binh Chuan commune, trekking route in Pu Mat national forest (Con Cuong) and surveying the trekking route in Sang Le forest in Tam Dinh commune (Tuong Duong). Thereby, developing eco-tourism products on the basis of linking to form tours in the area.

In particular, the outstanding results of Nghe An tourism industry in recent times include advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue the Decision approving the "Nghe An tourism development strategy to 2030, vision to 2035". This strategy is meaningful as a "map" indicating the direction and step-by-step development of the province's tourism industry in the roadmap to 2030 and expanding to 2035.
The strategy's goal is to make Nghe An one of the tourism centers of the North Central region by 2030, an attractive destination for Vietnam and Southeast Asia with unique tourism products bearing the cultural imprint of Nghe An. Tourism has basically become the province's spearhead economic sector, creating a driving force for the development of other sectors and fields; contributing to the province's GRDP from 9 - 10%.

By 2035, Nghe An will become a tourist destination in Asia and the world, a bright spot, a leader in developing Vietnam's heritage and tourism economy, strongly developing high value-added services to increase the proportion of the service industry in the economic structure; contributing to the province's GRDP from 10 - 12%.
