Recently, the booking application Booking.com announced a list of 10 domestic and 10 international destinations chosen by Vietnamese tourists the most on the occasion of September 2. The statistical data is based on searches, bookings and check-ins from August 31 to September 3.
Booking Vietnam Country Manager Varun Grover said that the September 2 holiday is an opportunity for families to enjoy memorable time together before the new school year begins.
This year's travel trends show that Vietnamese tourists want to look for vacations that can combine many experiences, from cultural exploration to relaxation at mountain resorts and sunny beaches.
According to these statistics, Vietnamese tourists tend to choose experiences that satisfy both relaxation and exploration factors.
Da Lat is the most popular destination in the country thanks to its beautiful scenery, cool air, romantic and peaceful atmosphere, and delicious cuisine. Da Lat has maintained its position as the most visited destination by Vietnamese tourists during National Day for 5 consecutive years.
The remaining names in the top 10 include Da Nang, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Hanoi, Sa Pa and Hue.
Phan Thiet appeared in the rankings for the first time, partly thanks to the Dau Giay – Phan Thiet expressway coming into operation, helping tourists travel more conveniently and with shorter travel times.
With international destinations, because the holiday only lasts 4 days, not enough time for long flights, Asia-Pacific destinations are chosen the most by Vietnamese tourists.
Bangkok, Thailand is the most chosen city, followed by Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (Korea), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Taipei (Taiwan, China), Sydney (Australia), Bali (Indonesia), Chiang Mai (Thailand).
These destinations are all vibrant tourist cities with diverse experiences, rich cuisine and convenient shopping.
According to Ms. Thuy Tran - General Director of Vivu Journeys Vietnam, this unit recorded a large number of visitors interested in famous domestic destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat. Resort-like tourist destinations such as Con Dao, Ly Son, Phu Quoc, Sa Pa... are also of interest.
“The cost of tours and holiday packages on September 2 may be lower than on recent major holidays such as Lunar New Year and April 30 due to a slight decrease in airfares. However, this decrease depends on the time of booking and the popularity of the destination.
Customers can often find better deals if they book early and are flexible about their travel times. If they book during peak holiday periods, airfares will still be very high,” Ms. Thuy said.
Informing VietNamNet , Mr. Bui Thanh Tu, Marketing Director of Best Price Travel Company, said that about 3 weeks before the September 2nd holiday, this company's mid-range and high-end foreign tours to Japan, Korea, and China were fully booked.
Tours usually depart on August 29, 30, and 31 and last 5 days and 4 nights. Tour costs during the September 2 holiday are about 20% higher than usual.
Regarding domestic tours, according to Mr. Tu, tourists tend to book close to the date. Domestic tour prices during this holiday have not fluctuated much compared to the same period last year and have cooled down compared to the April 30 – May 1 holiday this year.
The interesting and somewhat different point of Mui Ne fish market (Binh Thuan) is the way of selling – charging for seafood by the bucket. Each bucket of seafood costs from 100,000 VND to several hundred thousand VND, depending on the quantity, type of seafood and size.
