Informing Tien Phong reporter , Mr. Tran Van Thi - Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (investor) - said that he has directed contractors to develop a construction plan throughout the 2025 Lunar New Year, speeding up the progress of the project to upgrade the Lo Te - Rach Soi route in Can Tho City and Kien Giang Province.

"Currently, the contractor has mobilized 17 construction teams, with nearly 70 machines of all kinds, along with 6 asphalt concrete mixing stations and 2 cement concrete mixing stations. The total number of mobilized personnel is about 150 people. Of which, there are 4 teams for scraping and recycling, 3 teams for asphalt concrete paving, 4 teams for cement piles for the roadbed at the culvert head, 3 teams for culvert transition slab construction, and 3 teams for expanding the emergency lane," Mr. Thi informed.
To ensure traffic safety, the investor has directed units to regularly patrol, check for damage on the road surface and promptly repair it, in order to maintain traffic safety on the route.
The contractor is taking advantage of the current favorable weather to increase construction activities to speed up progress. The cumulative construction output to date has reached about 94 billion VND, equivalent to 17% of the contract value.
My Thuan Project Management Board has directed contractors and construction units to work overtime, increase shifts, and add more construction teams, while proposing a construction plan during Tet to speed up progress, striving to complete the project before June 30, 2025, 3 months earlier than committed in the contract.
As Tien Phong reported, the investment project to upgrade the road surface of Lo Te - Rach Soi route has a total investment of about 750 billion VND, from the central budget, with the Ministry of Transport as the investor, starting in June 2024, expected to be completed in June 2025.
The Lo Te - Rach Soi route, phase 1, has a total length of 51 km, with a total investment of more than 6,300 billion VND. The starting point is at the intersection of Vam Cong bridge and the National Highway 91 bypass (in Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city), the end point is at the Rach Gia city bypass (Kien Giang). The route was completed and put into operation in January 2021, but after less than 3 years of use, it was seriously damaged and had to be upgraded.
