After receiving the vaccine from the Ministry of Health, the Department of Health issued Plan No. 1398 to implement the measles vaccination campaign in 2025 in Dong Nai. The Department of Health requested all localities to implement the measles vaccination campaign at medical facilities, health stations or vaccination points in schools and child care groups immediately after receiving the vaccine, ending no later than March 31, 2025.
Of which, the group of children aged 6 months to under 9 months is expected to have 520 children (including transient children who have not been vaccinated with measles-containing vaccine); 686 children aged 6-10 years old are present in the locality but have not been fully vaccinated with 2 doses of measles-containing vaccine. In addition, 823 children aged 1-5 years old will be vaccinated, the vaccine source for this group is from the Expanded Immunization Program.
The Department of Health recommends that localities speed up the measles vaccination progress, organize catch-up vaccinations, and catch-up vaccinations for children of age who have not been vaccinated, ensuring vaccination safety and effectiveness.
On March 26, a working group of the Department of Health led by Deputy Director of the Department of Health Luu Van Dung inspected the measles vaccination campaign in Trang Bom district and Bien Hoa city. Through the monitoring, the delegation found that the medical staff was responsible for implementing the campaign; and coordinated propaganda work to encourage parents to take their children to get vaccinated.
