Prices increase simultaneously in the Central and Southern regions

Bac Giang, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, trading around 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.

With this adjustment, the North is the region with the lowest pork price in the country, causing farmers to consider carefully before selling.

The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions today recorded a strong recovery in many provinces and cities, especially in the central coastal region and the Central Highlands provinces.

Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc increased from 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg, fluctuating from 69,000 - 73,000 VND/kg.

This is the highest price in the region this week, showing that purchasing power at slaughterhouses and restaurants is showing signs of recovery before the upcoming big holiday.

The South became the center of the live pig market on April 11 when pig prices in many localities recorded impressive increases, some places increasing by up to 2,000 VND/kg after just 1 day.

Increase of 2,000 VND/kg in: Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Ben Tre.

Increase of 1,000 VND/kg in: Ho Chi Minh City, Ca Mau, Long An, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, An Giang, Tra Vinh.

The price of live pigs in the South is currently fluctuating between 72,000 - 74,000 VND/kg, the highest in the country, reflecting increased consumer demand in the context of recovering purchasing power.

According to analysts, if the demand recovery continues, the live hog market will have more price increases before the April 30 – May 1 holiday. However, input cost pressure and disease control are still factors that make farmers wary.
