The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said that at 6:20 GMT (13:20 Vietnam time) on March 28, a major earthquake occurred.
GFZ said the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.9 in Myanmar and 7.3 in the Thai capital Bangkok.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10km, initially determined at 21.90 degrees North latitude and 95.65 degrees East longitude.
There is currently no information on casualties or damage caused by the earthquake.
In Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, people also felt aftershocks from the two earthquakes./.
