The Da Nang City Fireworks Team has been in charge of the Da Nang City Military Command since 2008, growing over 15 years with 11 international fireworks competitions in the city on the Han River.
The opening night performance tonight, June 2, by the host team has the theme "Da Nang - The sound of peace", as a welcome to international friends coming to Da Nang City, with the message of conveying sublime emotions, erasing all distances, connecting love for humanity, so that international friends remember a Da Nang City - Vietnam with many beautiful memories, friendly people, a peaceful city.

Da Nang fireworks team represents Vietnam to open DIFF 2023
The performance of the Vietnamese team consists of 3 parts: Voice of the Han River, Rhythm of Da Thanh, Da Nang - The sound of peace. The performance combines music and fireworks on the Han River, creating a space of interweaving music and color, honoring peace, and strengthening friendship among nations around the world.
The first part starts with gentle melodies and light color effects to awaken the audience's emotions.

The second part uses vibrant music including songs about Da Nang City, combined with brilliant effects, depicting the rise of Da Nang people, together with the world, overcoming difficulties after the pandemic. The music tempo gradually increases along with the layers of fireworks, the density increases, especially the transitions that create highlights that surprised the audience.
If part 2 creates a breathtaking picture of light in the sky of Da Nang and Han River, part 3 is the main part of the theme, combining modern and majestic music, especially the explosive final minutes that make the audience applaud continuously. Thereby, sending the main message for this year's festival season about peace for humanity, prosperity and happiness everywhere.

Fireworks light up a corner of Da Nang sky
Right after the Vietnamese team's performance was the Finnish team. The performance used rock music as the main theme in the 20-minute performance, stirring up the festive atmosphere by the Han River at the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
At the most recent DIFF in 2019, Finland defeated the English team to win the championship. Determined to defend the championship, the Finnish team returned to DIFF 2023 with a performance called "Start My Heart", conveying the message that the world is resilient in overcoming Covid-19, returning to intense emotions and love.
The Finnish team's performance favored vibrant rock music, changing the tempo with climaxes to sublimate and satisfy the audience.
The Finnish team started the fireworks story with rock songs like Kickstart My Hear (Motley Crue), Listen To Your Heart (Roxette), Show Must Go On Queen... creating a bustling festival atmosphere, making the audience want to stand up and dance.
These are classic rock songs, when played with fireworks effects, recreating vibrant music festivals with hundreds of thousands of spectators in stadiums at the peak of rock music history.
Next are the optimistic melodies of "Circle of Life" - the Lion King soundtrack, which reminds us of the time when the whole world unites to overcome Covid-19, or Chiquitita (ABBA), both of which are international songs with high popularity, along with fireworks performance techniques, easily reaching the audience's sympathy.
The Finnish team's performance ended with the epic melody of Creations of Earth (Thomas Bergersen), showcasing the full range of pyrotechnics and a message calling for humanity to love and unite.
The audience was impressed by the performance, which was especially smooth in the coordination between the musical melody and each firecracker. In particular, the fast-paced rhythms, with the emphasis on the timing of the multi-layered firecrackers, made the audience even more excited.
DIFF 2023 takes place from June 2 to July 8, with the participation of 8 competing teams, after Vietnam - Finland are Canada - France (June 10), Italy - Australia (June 17), Poland - England (June 24). The final match takes place on the evening of July 8. Each team has 20 minutes to perform fireworks displays according to the themes of each night agreed upon by the organizing committee, including: Peace for humanity, Love without borders, Conquering dreams, Dance of nature, World without distance.
