Changes in the heroic homeland

With the great sacrifices and outstanding achievements that the Party Committee, army and people of Bu Dang achieved in the resistance war against the US, the district was honored by the President as a Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces along with 5 communes, including: Dong Nai, Thong Nhat, Bom Bo, Dak Nhau, Nghia Trung and 2 individuals were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, martyrs Dieu Ong and Doan Duc Thai.

OVERCOMING DIFFICULTIES

After liberation, the Party Committee, government and people of Bu Dang district set out to overcome the consequences of war, renovate and build a new life in the midst of devastation and hardship. In November 1976, Bu Dang district was merged into Phuoc Long district. In 1988, in response to the requirements of the renovation cause, Bu Dang district was re-established under Decision No. 112/QD-HDBT of the Council of Ministers (now the Government). The people of Bu Dang were happy, excited and enthusiastically competed in labor, production and building their homeland. In 2008, the district was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President for its achievements in the renovation cause.

Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of Bu Dang District Party Committee Vu Luong said: “When the district was re-established, it had 7 communes with a population of about 30,000 people, of which nearly 50% were ethnic minorities. The economy was mainly agricultural with backward cultivation; the cashew growing area was only about 2,500 hectares; people's lives, especially ethnic minorities, were very difficult, every year more than 60% of households were hungry and the State had to support food. The intellectual level of the people was low, there were still backward customs and superstitions. The whole district had only 10 schools with 85 classrooms, mostly made of bamboo and thatch; there was only 1 secondary and high school with a few dozen students; students had to study in 3 shifts regularly. The health sector and people's health care were difficult and lacking; epidemics often occurred, especially malaria. It can be seen that, in the early days of the re-establishment of the district, the Party Committee, the army and the people Bu Dang had to face many difficulties and challenges.

EFFORTS TO BUILD AND DEVELOP

After 50 years of construction and development, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Bu Dang district have grown remarkably, especially under the correct leadership of the district Party Committee through 8 congresses, the reconstruction and development of the homeland has achieved many proud achievements. On the former battlefield land, now it has "changed skin and flesh" day by day, green covers the hills from industrial crops, electricity systems, roads, schools and stations have reached the villages and alleys, the lives of the people are increasingly prosperous and happy.

Through each term, the District Party Committee has left deep and clear impressions, demonstrating the spirit of self-reliance, self-strengthening, dynamism, creativity, and overcoming difficulties. In the process of leadership and direction, the District Party Committee has always adhered to the Party's principles, applied and concretized the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to the actual situation of the district. At the same time, it has promoted collective intelligence in the process of leadership, direction and effective implementation, achieving many important achievements in all areas of social life.

From agricultural production mainly of upland rice and crops, people have now switched to growing industrial crops and fruit trees with high economic value. Budget revenue in recent years has always met and exceeded the targets set by the province and district. Along with the implementation of the national target program on new rural construction and the breakthrough program on "Strengthening the socialization of road construction and rural lighting; promoting the implementation of projects to increase land use revenue for investment in infrastructure construction", the appearance of Bu Dang's countryside has changed clearly every day. By the end of 2024, Bu Dang will have 13/15 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 3 communes will meet advanced new rural standards. In addition, Duc Phong town has made changes and the urban appearance is increasingly spacious, continuing to plan to increase the town's connectivity with neighboring localities, creating new development space and momentum for the town to break through and develop in the coming time. At the same time, the District Party Committee always focuses on prioritizing resources for investment in construction, repair and upgrading of the school and classroom system. Effectively implementing national target programs on health.

The working delegation of the province and Bu Dang District Party Committee visited, encouraged and gave gifts to the elderly who turned 100 years old in the district.

Party building work has been strengthened, the political system from the district to the grassroots has been increasingly consolidated and developed. Up to now, the entire district Party Committee has 60 grassroots party organizations, 237 party cells under the grassroots party committee with more than 4,200 party members. The district Party Committee has been clean and strong for many years.

Looking back on the 50-year journey after the liberation day, the Party Committee, government and people of Bu Dang district are always excited and proud of the results achieved.
