On February 1, HAGL Club shared a clip of the team's spring training session, where Technical Director (GDKT) Vu Tien Thanh introduced a group of 9 players of the age group for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand at the end of the year.
These players include Vietnam national team goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien, central defenders Pham Ly Duc and Nguyen Van Trieu, strikers and midfielders Cao Hoang Minh, Hoang Minh Tien and Moi Se (2003), striker Nguyen Minh Tam (2005), central defender Dinh Quang Kiet (2007), and striker Tran Gia Bao (2008).
As a representative, young midfielder Dinh Quang Kiet said: "We wish the entire coaching staff and you a prosperous new year, and to achieve your goals."
As for his senior Dung Quang Nho, the 1.9m tall young player sent his wishes: "I wish you good health and to still be Vietnam's Kante."
Representing the generation of players born in 2000 - 2001, midfielder Tran Bao Toan shared: "Wishing the entire coaching staff, the young players, and the seniors in the HAGL team good health and success in the new year."
HAGL continues the tradition of valuing young players
Since Mr. Duc decided to establish the HAGL JMG football academy, HAGL Club has always actively given opportunities to young players, to support the national teams.
Thanks to that, Cong Phuong, Van Toan, Tuan Anh, Xuan Truong, Van Thanh, Hong Duy, Minh Vuong... were trained early and contributed greatly to the great successes of the U.23 Vietnam team and the Vietnam team.
At this time, except for Minh Vuong, the above players have all left, but HAGL's policy of using young players to contribute to the Vietnamese national teams remains unchanged.
The fact that Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh and Head Coach Le Quang Trai introduced a group of 9 young players, with many names just added mid-season from the youth team or called back from loan contracts, showed that.
This has also been affirmed many times by coach Le Quang Trai in HAGL's press conferences: "HAGL always prioritizes giving young players the opportunity to play, so that they have a suitable development environment in the V-League, so that they can contribute to the national teams.
We create conditions for young players trained by HAGL to gain experience and compete a lot. That of course affects professional preparation. But the coaching staff accepts the risk of making mistakes, and believes that the players will gradually improve."
This season, HAGL introduced young striker Tran Gia Bao (born in 2008) with 1 goal, alongside goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien, only 21 years old, who is the number 1 choice in goal.
Rookie, central defender Pham Ly Duc (born in 2003) is also a familiar member of the HAGL main squad and has 1 goal. Previously, HAGL also became a nursery for Nguyen Quoc Viet, Dung Quang Nho, Tran Thanh Son, Tran Bao Toan... to contribute to the Vietnam U.23 teams.
