That's why, after retiring, Anh Vien wants to spread her love of swimming to young people around her with the thought that when people know how to swim, they can not only help themselves escape accidents but also save those around them.
The former swimmer shared: "When I opened the TikTok swimming channel, the only thing I wanted was to spread the idea that everyone needs to learn to swim. Such video clips make people more excited about learning to swim, contributing to increasing the rate of people who know how to swim. I want this swimming club to expand in the city, in neighboring provinces and then the whole country, so that everyone loves swimming. From there, it can help reduce the death rate due to drowning."
Anh Vien wants swimming clubs to be expanded nationwide to help reduce the death rate from drowning.
"Swimming is not difficult, Anh Vien will take care of it" or "Learning to swim is easy, Anh Vien will show you"... are the trademark sayings of teacher Anh Vien in swimming teaching videos that have created a strong effect on Tik Tok and social media channels recently. In the clips, Anh Vien enthusiastically guides viewers on basic swimming techniques such as how to breathe in water, how to float on the water surface, how to dive, tread water... in a concise, easy-to-understand way.

It is the love for children that is the great motivation that urges Anh Vien to accept the invitation to participate in summer activities, responding to the "For Children" Action Month 2023 taking place on May 28 in Ho Chi Minh City organized by the Central Youth Union Council. This includes the opening of a free swimming class for children in difficult circumstances at the Binh Chanh District Children's House, Ho Chi Minh City. For this former athlete, opening a class or participating in swimming propaganda activities all stem from the desire to gradually reduce the rate of drowning.
As Thanh Nien reported, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest rate of child deaths due to drowning in the world. Currently, on average, about 2,000 children die from drowning each year. When mentioning this number, Anh Vien could not help but feel sad: "As far as I know, about 70% of drowning victims are children under 15 years old. I think that most of them are students but do not have an environment to play comfortably, especially in the hot summer. Sometimes because of conditions that do not allow, they go to ponds, lakes, rivers and streams to play with friends. They simply think that it is a place to play, but they do not know that in the water environment there are many potential dangers and just a little carelessness, an accident will happen".
Regarding popularizing swimming to many people, especially opening swimming classes for children, the female swimmer from Can Tho shared: "Every time I read the newspaper and see children drowning, sometimes 3-4 of them died, I wonder why swimming is so simple for me, but why is it so difficult for everyone? So when I retire, I want to spread my love of swimming to the young people around me. Swimming is an essential skill for everyone. Therefore, everyone, especially children, need to learn to swim and realize that this is very necessary for themselves. Swimming is good for health, helps you escape from accidents and can also save people around you."
