More than 200 athletes compete at the Tug of War Tournament, the 9th Quang Tri Provincial Sports Festival

This morning, March 18, in Dong Ha City, the Organizing Committee of the 9th Quang Tri Provincial Sports Festival, 2025 - 2026 held the opening ceremony of the Tug of War Tournament.

The Tug of War tournament took place from March 18-19 at the Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium; gathering more than 200 male and female athletes from Vinh Linh, Trieu Phong, Dakrong districts, Quang Tri town, Dong Ha city and the Provincial Police. The athletes competed in 5 categories, including: 460kg women, 480kg women, 480kg men, 560kg men and mixed.

The Tug of War Tournament is organized to create a useful playground for athletes to meet, exchange expertise, strengthen solidarity and compete; maintain and develop traditional sports, contribute to promoting the implementation of the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life"; select outstanding athletes for the provincial team to participate in national sports competitions.
