In the province, there are currently 73 enterprises with import-export activities to the US market with export turnover in 2024 reaching 547.1 million USD, accounting for 3.1% of total export turnover and in the first quarter of 2025 reaching 125.6 million USD, accounting for 3.6% of the province's total export turnover.
In addition, there are more than 100 enterprises in the supply chain of raw materials for export enterprises. The main export items are motorbike components, garments, helmets, footwear of all kinds, household appliances, electronic components, etc.
With higher tariffs, product prices will be less competitive than competitors from countries that are not subject to high tariffs. This poses a difficult problem for businesses, forcing them to find ways to reduce production costs to maintain competitive prices or seek new markets to offset revenue from the US market.
In this context, many enterprises in the province have flexibly implemented adaptation strategies to ensure uninterrupted production and export activities. First, enterprises focused on expanding new export markets in Europe, Japan, South Korea and ASEAN countries. These are potential markets with high demand for products from Vietnam and more favorable trade policies.
In addition, optimizing production costs has become a top priority. Some businesses are preparing to invest in new technologies and improve production processes to increase labor productivity. Instead of relying on imported raw materials, some companies have begun to seek domestic sources of raw materials or cooperate with suppliers in the ASEAN region to reduce input costs.
These measures will help businesses maintain competitive prices when affected by high tariffs imposed by the US. E-commerce is also becoming an important tool for exporting businesses to reach international customers without being dependent on traditional distribution systems.
Thanks to the development of e-commerce platforms, many companies have implemented online sales strategies, connecting with global customers without going through intermediary distributors. This not only helps them save costs but also expand their reach to many new markets.
In order to promptly support export enterprises, the Provincial People's Committee held an urgent meeting to propose active support solutions to help export enterprises overcome this difficult period. Many preferential financial policies will be implemented, including credit packages with low interest rates to help enterprises have enough resources to expand production and innovate technology. Trade promotion programs will be promoted, helping enterprises find new partners and connect with potential markets outside the US.
Despite facing many difficulties, local export enterprises still have opportunities to develop if they have appropriate adaptation strategies. The trend of applying technology, innovating business models and expanding markets will continue to play an important role in the development of enterprises.
Companies that seize opportunities, innovate products, and seek modern ways of doing business will be able to keep pace with changes in global trade and maintain growth.
Typical of the export enterprises greatly affected by the US tax policy is A My Industrial Joint Stock Company, Thai Hoa - Lien Son - Lien Hoa Industrial Park (Lap Thach), specializing in the production and trading of tiles, especially ceramics and industrial materials.
Faced with this situation, the company has implemented many flexible solutions to adapt to the high tariffs imposed by the US. One of the important solutions that A My has implemented is to diversify export markets.
Instead of focusing solely on the US market, the company has sought customers in Europe, Japan, Korea and the ASEAN region to reduce its dependence on a single market. This helps limit the risk of fluctuations in US tax policies and creates opportunities to expand products to more countries.
In addition to expanding the market, A My also optimizes production costs through investment in new technology. Applying advanced production solutions and improving work processes helps the company reduce operating costs while still ensuring product quality meets international standards.
At the same time, businesses also promote the use of domestic raw materials to limit dependence on foreign supplies, minimizing the impact of price fluctuations in the market.
In business, A My strengthens e-commerce channels to reach global customers directly instead of relying on traditional distribution systems. In this way, the company can expand its export scale without being too affected by high US tariffs. Thanks to flexible steps and smart strategies, A My will not only overcome challenges but also open up new growth opportunities.
