Tourists who have had the opportunity to visit Vinh Phuc in recent years have all had the same impression of the breakthrough and strong rise in socio-economic development, investment attraction, and urban infrastructure development of the province.
The traffic network system is invested synchronously, connecting from the locality to the center, industrial parks (IPs) of the district, of the province and between Vinh Phuc and neighboring provinces and cities, contributing to creating new development space and promoting socio-economic growth of the province.
To create regional linkages with spillover effects and serve as a driving force for socio-economic development, the province has coordinated with Phu Tho province to complete the investment in the construction of Vinh Phu bridge across the Lo river connecting Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho provinces; signed an agreement with Tuyen Quang province to implement investment projects to build roads connecting Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang provinces. Mobilize maximum resources, combine capital sources between the central and local governments, take advantage of ODA capital to implement breakthrough projects to create regional linkages; prioritize investment and construction of key projects.
Currently, the province is implementing the investment project to build the Ring Road 5 of the Hanoi Capital Region to connect Vinh Phuc Province with Thai Nguyen Province; investing in the construction and expansion of the central axis road of the Me Linh New Urban Area connecting Vinh Phuc with Hanoi City; implementing procedures to approve the investment project to build the traffic route connecting from the Red River left dike to Van Phuc Bridge, in order to gradually complete the Vinh Yen - Phu Xuyen route according to the Hanoi Capital Region Planning.
In addition, in December 2024, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to implement the project to expand National Highway 2, Vinh Yen - Viet Tri section with a total investment of more than 1,258 billion VND, a route length of about 11 km, a scale of 4 - 6 lanes according to TCVN 4054:2005, a design speed of 80 km/hour.
This is a key traffic project in the socio-economic development of the province. After completion, the project will contribute to completing the National Highway system according to the Road Network Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, ensuring synchronization with the invested sections. Thereby, strengthening the connection between the provinces in the Northern midlands and mountainous areas with the provinces in the Hanoi capital region; reducing traffic congestion and accidents on National Highway 2; creating conditions for socio-economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
Up to now, the province has all three types of transportation: road, railway and inland waterway, of which, the national railway line running through the province is about 35 km long, connecting the province with the capital Hanoi and the northern midland and mountainous provinces to Yunnan, China; 17 intra-provincial routes with a total length of more than 370 km; 5 belt roads with a length of more than 255 km are invested in a synchronous and modern direction, not only increasing the connection between districts and cities but also forming regional linkages, creating a driving force to attract investment.
In 2024, the province attracted 637 million USD in FDI capital, an increase of more than 50% compared to the plan; the province's domestic revenue remained stable in the top 10 provinces nationwide with a total state budget revenue of more than 26 trillion VND. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the province's economic growth rate is estimated to increase by 8.75% over the same period, higher than the 4.25% increase in the first quarter of 2024, the highest in the period 2020 - 2025.
Determined to soon complete the traffic infrastructure, clear the blood vessels to promote economic development, the province continues to focus resources on investing in building Vinh Phuc urban infrastructure according to the set goals, especially key projects on technical infrastructure, socio-economic infrastructure; investing in key projects, closely following the traffic development planning in the provincial planning and the development planning of the Red River Delta to connect inter-regionally, creating a breakthrough driving force for the socio-economic development of the province.
