According to a VNA reporter in Tokyo, speaking at the investment promotion program, Chairman of the Long An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut assessed that this was a valuable opportunity for provincial leaders and Japanese enterprises to meet, exchange, discuss and strengthen cooperation connections in many fields.
According to Chairman Nguyen Van Ut, Vietnam and Japan have long established a deep partnership in many fields, from economics, trade, investment to cultural exchange, education and science and technology. Based on this good friendship, Long An province pays special attention to strengthening cooperation with Japanese localities, typically Hyogo, Ibaraki, Wakayama, Nakagawa and Okayama city. In particular, bilateral economic cooperation has made remarkable progress.
Currently, Long An has 161 investment projects of Japanese enterprises with a total investment capital of more than 1.2 billion USD. Japanese enterprises are constantly expanding their scale and increasing their investment capital, demonstrating their confidence in the province's business environment. Chairman Nguyen Van Ut affirmed that the contribution of Japanese enterprises is an important driving force for the socio-economic development of Long An province.
Chairman Nguyen Van Ut affirmed that the investment promotion conference is not only an opportunity to share cooperation opportunities but also an important event for Long An province to introduce its potential and competitive advantages to Japanese organizations, businesses and investors.
According to Chairman Nguyen Van Ut, the local government is always committed to creating favorable conditions, improving the investment environment, simplifying administrative procedures, and expanding preferential policies to attract projects in the fields of industry, trade and high technology.
In addition, Long An province wishes to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Japanese partners in building smart cities, e-government, developing human resources, labor markets, and receiving more ODA aid projects using non-refundable aid capital and preferential loans from the Japanese Government in the fields of public administration management; water resources management; healthcare, education and training; transportation and urban infrastructure.
At the conference, Mr. Katsuhiko Usui, General Director of Sapporo Vietnam, shared that the reason why Sapporo chose to invest in Long An was thanks to the enthusiastic guidance and support from the local government. He appreciated the simplified administrative procedures, quick licensing process, removal of obstacles for businesses, as well as the companionship of the province throughout the operation period, especially during the difficult period due to COVID-19. He also commented that Long An has a favorable location near the seaport and the transportation system, making the transportation of goods more efficient.
During the discussion, Long An provincial leaders, business leaders and Japanese investors shared their practical perspectives on potential cooperation opportunities. Long An provincial leaders provided necessary information on the investment environment in the province and some Japanese investors also shared their experiences in investing in Long An.
The investment promotion program ended with the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between enterprises and enterprises, between the province and enterprises... marking an important step forward in investment cooperation between Long An province and Japanese partners.
On the same day, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut and members of the delegation had a working session with Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu. At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Ut informed about the province's efforts in promoting Japanese investment in Long An, and requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to support the province in strengthening connections with Japanese localities and enterprises.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu assessed that Long An province has a key geographical location connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the Mekong Delta region, and at the same time possesses an open investment environment suitable for Japanese enterprises. The Ambassador highly appreciated the results that Long An province has achieved in attracting investment from Japan, and affirmed that the Embassy will continue to make efforts to introduce Long An province as an effective investment destination for Japanese enterprises.
