Accordingly, the prescribed penalty includes: a fine of VND 85 million and an 18-month suspension of operations for the organizing unit, Objoff Company Limited (headquartered at 73, Street No. 4, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City).

The management agency said the show used costumes and images that went against good customs and traditions when performing.

In addition to the fine, the Department coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications to handle and prevent offensive images of the show from spreading online in recent times.

"For other violations, the Department will continue to coordinate with relevant units to handle them promptly and will inform the media in the near future," said a representative of the Department of Culture.

Previously, the image in the New traditional show by designer Tuong Danh held in Thu Duc City became the focus of public opinion with the image of a model wearing a conical hat and a stylized yếm shirt that revealed her back and buttocks.

In another design, a bald male model wearing a yellow, high-collared outfit poses next to a golden bell. Many other designs also resemble traditional ao dai and ao yem, but are created with bold cuts.

At the time of the controversy, Tuong Danh - designer and artistic director of the fashion collection - spoke up to explain that the controversial designs were only a small part of the collection.

"If it were a traditional yếm dress, it would definitely be a different story. Here it is a dress inspired by the yếm dress, but the final product has been completely changed from the traditional yếm dress," the designer shared.
