Investigate and clarify 100% of particularly serious cases

This is the information announced by the Ministry of Public Security at the online spring conference to the police of units and localities to assess the situation and results of the work of ensuring security and order (ANTT) for the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 and deploy key tasks after Tet.

According to Major General Dang Hong Duc, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security, during the recent Tet holiday, the police of all units and localities mobilized maximum forces to synchronously deploy plans and schemes to ensure security and order at the grassroots level, carry out a peak period of fighting and suppressing all types of crimes, strengthen measures, and closely coordinate with forces to detect and handle violations of the law.

Accordingly, the police of units and localities have deployed forces and means to ensure absolute security and safety for key economic, political, defense and security targets; and important political, social and cultural activities during the Tet holiday, especially on New Year's Eve.

Police units and localities mobilized maximum forces to deploy peak measures to prevent, combat, and suppress all types of crimes and social evils right at the grassroots level; investigated and clarified 100% of particularly serious cases and cases of public concern; ensured safety of detention facilities. During the Tet holiday, the authorities prosecuted 507 cases, 820 defendants, arrested 358 cases, 1,252 gambling subjects...

In particular, the forces have proactively developed plans to handle traffic jams and accidents; handling without restricted areas or exceptions, focusing on controlling violations of alcohol concentration, drugs, and speed. During the Tet holiday, 657 cases were discovered and 697 subjects were arrested for illegally producing, trading, transporting, storing, and using fireworks.

Here, General To Lam, Minister of Public Security requested that in the coming time, the police of units and localities promote the achieved results, continue to seriously and effectively implement the directions of the Central Party Committee, the Government, the Ministry and the tasks of public security work to create breakthroughs, creating momentum for 2024, focusing on the Prime Minister's directive on ensuring the implementation of tasks after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin.

The head of the public security sector assigned the public security of units and localities to absolutely ensure security and safety for the activities of Party and State leaders; key targets, projects, headquarters of Party, State agencies, and authorities at all levels; important political, foreign affairs, cultural and social events of the country; firmly grasp the situation, absolutely not to be passive or surprised in any situation; strengthen the work of ensuring internal political security, economic security, ideological and cultural security, cyber security, information and communication security; coordinate the implementation of social security, public security, support people to return to cities and industrial parks to work and live...

The Minister of Public Security requested the police of all units and localities to speed up the investigation of cases of public concern, cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Anti-Negative Practices; effectively attack and suppress all types of crimes and law violations, especially those that have become more active after Tet such as gambling, black credit, drug crimes, theft, etc.; proactively develop plans to prevent and stop criminals from taking advantage of the festival to commit crimes.
