Over the past 5 years, the scale of Vietnam's e-commerce market has increased rapidly. According to Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy Le Hoang Oanh, in 2023, Vietnam witnessed a proud development of digital e-commerce.

Data from Amazon Global Selling Vietnam's report shows that more than 17 million products of Vietnamese enterprises have been exported, an increase of 50% in value and 40% in the number of sales partners. Overall, cross-border e-commerce has grown 26% compared to the previous year.

These figures are clear evidence of the great potential and constant efforts of Vietnamese enterprises in taking advantage of digital platforms to expand international markets.

According to experts, in the context of deep integration today, cross-border e-commerce has become an important channel for exporting goods, expanding the consumption market for Vietnamese goods. However, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Vietnam are still facing many difficulties and challenges in accessing and implementing cross-border e-commerce applications, such as limited knowledge and digital skills; low competitiveness; lack of market information and difficulties related to legal barriers, tariffs, logistics, payments, etc.

In addition, fluctuations in the international market, trade tensions, and increasingly high demands on quality standards require great efforts from the business community, especially small, medium and micro enterprises.

Understanding the difficulties and limitations of businesses, with the goal of accompanying and supporting micro, small and medium enterprises to promote online exports, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) organized the 2024 E-commerce Connection and Development Forum.

The forum provides specific information on policies, orientations, and support solutions of the Government to promote cross-border e-commerce. At the same time, through analysis and sharing by experts, it provides an overview of the Vietnamese and international e-commerce market, introduces models, solutions, and shares international experiences to support Vietnamese MSMEs to promote online exports.
