During the years of the war against the US, Vinh, Nghe An was one of the northern cities most heavily bombed by the US Air Force, the entire city was almost leveled. Vinh City is a whole land of memories with the sound of the East Sea waves and on one side is the halo of light shining in the sky of the city. During the days of fighting the US, the central region felt more heartbroken than in Vinh. 
Standing on the top floor of Muong Thanh - Phuong Dong Hotel in the center of Vinh city, looking south, a vast expanse of sky stretches towards Lam River. Next to the bustling Ben Thuy Bridge, Dung Quyet Mountain stands tall, the evidence of the Phoenix Citadel of Trung Do still stands there, imprinted in the blue sky with the failed dream of establishing the capital of Emperor Quang Trung.

After 60 years of formation and development, looking at Vinh today, after so many years, the ruins of the past have become a first-class urban area, an important center of the North Central region.
