PC Lao Cai ensures power supply on the occasion of April 30 and May 1, 2025

In order to ensure safe, stable and continuous power supply to serve the people and political, cultural and social activities in the province during the upcoming April 30 and May 1 holidays (from April 30 to May 4, 2025), Lao Cai Power Company (PC Lao Cai) has developed and deployed a power supply plan, ready to be on duty 24/7 to promptly handle any arising situations.

Accordingly, PC Lao Cai requested its affiliated units, the High Voltage Grid Operation Management Team and functional departments to strengthen grid inspections, thoroughly handle defects, especially at transformer stations, 22kV and 35kV medium voltage lines, ensure safe line corridors and smooth operation of the control information system.

The company also directed units to proactively review and prepare sufficient supplies and spare equipment; arrange vehicles and human resources to be ready to respond to incidents; organize a 24/7 on-duty force during the holiday. During this time, PC Lao Cai will not cut off power for work, except in special cases or to handle unexpected incidents. Stable power supply for important loads is also carried out in accordance with Decision No. 3198/QD-UBND dated December 2, 2024 of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee.

The Information Technology and Control Department is assigned to ensure stable operation of the Recloser system, LBS, transmission connection points and Control Center, and at the same time deploy inspection and maintenance of the SCADA system, telemetry equipment, protection relays, etc. to improve the availability and synchronization of the grid operation system.

Along with technical work, propaganda work on safe and economical use of electricity, fire and explosion prevention and prevention of violations of power grid corridors such as kite flying and tree cutting near power lines continues to be focused on. Local power units strengthen coordination with local authorities to update information on political and cultural events taking place during the holidays, thereby developing appropriate power supply plans to avoid interruptions.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Director of Lao Cai High Voltage Grid Enterprise, a unit under PC Lao Cai, said: “The enterprise has proactively inspected the entire grid, cleared corridors, tightened rudders, terminals, and handled contact points to prevent incidents due to overload or extreme weather. We also replaced poor quality insulation, industrially cleaned equipment, periodically overhauled circuit breakers, and applied modern technological equipment such as thermal cameras, partial discharge meters, and unmanned aerial vehicles to improve monitoring efficiency and detect early risks of incidents.”
