Extremely rare benchmark for majors, Vietnam only has one training place

(Dan Tri) - This extremely rare major has only one regular university training institution in the country and is also the major with the highest standard score in the school.
Flight operations management is the major with the highest benchmark score according to the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment method for admission to the Vietnam Aviation Academy with 920/1,200 points.

Previously, according to the announcement of the early admission scores of two other methods of the Vietnam Aviation Academy, this is also the major with the highest admission score in the school, far surpassing the remaining majors. Specifically, in the method of considering the capacity assessment score of Hanoi National University, flight operations management has a benchmark score of 800; the method of considering the transcript has a benchmark score of 27.

The benchmark for this major in all modes has increased compared to 2023. Flight operations management is a rare major in Vietnam. Up to now, this major has only been offered as a full-time university degree at the Vietnam Aviation Academy. In 2024, the Vietnam Aviation Academy will recruit 200 students for this major, including a training program in English. Dr. Phan Thanh Minh, head of the Aviation Operations Department, Vietnam Aviation Academy, informed that the flight operations management major trains students to become engineers specializing in flight operations management. This major has a very high rate of graduates working in their major after graduation, over 95%. Upon graduation, flight operations management graduates can take on many positions as air traffic controllers; air traffic specialists, quality and security safety specialists, and air traffic department specialists at regional flight management companies; air traffic controller, aviation information officer... The current average income of an air traffic controller in Vietnam is about 30 million VND/month. However, the actual income of each air traffic controller depends on seniority and actual contribution. In addition, air traffic controllers also enjoy other benefits and rights according to regulations.
