According to the Central Highlands General Hospital, on the evening of November 23, the hospital admitted patient H. in a state of pain throughout the back. The patient was diagnosed with a fractured vertebra, severe spinal cord compression, and complete paralysis of both legs. According to the patient's family, the patient fell into a well while picking coffee for hire.
After that, the doctors performed emergency surgery to insert screws to fix the spine. The patient's health is currently stable, however, the patient does not have health insurance so the treatment costs are expensive.
According to Dr. Huynh Nhu Dong, due to the patient's difficult circumstances and lack of treatment costs, the department performed emergency surgery to save the patient first. After that, the incident was reported to the hospital leadership for advice, as well as contacted the social work team (under the Nursing Department) to call for support and help for the patient.
