On November 28, the Military Command of Long Bien District (Hanoi) said that it had coordinated with the Engineering Force of the Capital Command to move the bomb to Cam Son Shooting Range (Bac Giang province) for disposal.

Specifically, at around 10:00 a.m. on November 25, fishermen in the Red River in Ngoc Thuy Ward (Long Bien District) discovered a bomb about 200 meters to the right (upstream) of Long Bien Bridge, so they reported it to the authorities.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Long Bien District Military Command inspected, blocked off the scene, diverted ships to avoid dangerous areas, and mobilized forces and vehicles to salvage and tow the bomb to a safe area for handling.

Through inspection, the M-118 bomb weighed about 1,362kg, was 2.3m long, 56cm in diameter; contained more than 817kg of explosives inside and was determined to be highly dangerous.

After being inspected and given a plan by the authorities, on the night of November 27, the Long Bien District Military Command coordinated with the Engineering Force of the Capital Command to move the bomb to Cam Son Shooting Range (Bac Giang Province) for disposal.
