After receiving the news, the Ha Long City Military Command and local authorities organized a blockade of the scene. Then, they reported to the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command to mobilize engineering forces to the scene to survey, assess the level of danger and organize the removal of the bomb.

Initial investigations determined that this was an unexploded bomb weighing nearly 230kg, about 1.54m long, and 27.4cm in diameter, left over from the anti-American resistance war.

By 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, the engineering force had successfully handled the technical work and moved the bomb to the detonation location according to regulations, ensuring absolute safety.
