At the talk show series, the story of the journey towards the goal of net zero emissions was discussed enthusiastically by businesses and young faces, showing the common efforts of the whole society in the fight against climate change.
Pioneering business with green technology
As a pioneer in applying green technology, INSEE Vietnam has made its mark by becoming the first cement manufacturer in Vietnam to be awarded the International Environmental Declaration (EPD) certificate.
INSEE representative shared: "We have reduced 20% of electricity from the national grid thanks to the application of heat recovery technology from the furnace. This is just the first step in our sustainable development roadmap".
Not to be outdone, SCG Vietnam is also promoting its green production strategy. This enterprise has been actively investing in carbon emission reduction technology, using biomass energy to replace fossil fuels.
Notably, the company also researches and develops environmentally friendly product lines such as green cement and ultra-thin bricks.
Miss Thanh Ha
Voice of the young generation
This year's talk show series features two influential figures for young people: Miss H'Hen Nie and reigning Miss Environment World 2023 Nguyen Thanh Ha.
Thanh Ha told a story about changing one of the hard-to-break habits that not only she and many young people have: abusing technology and ordering food to take home on apps.
This is also a habit that creates a lot of plastic waste after every meal, but she has paid attention and started to change.
H'Hen Nie and Miss Ngoc Chau at Green Vietnam
Miss H'Hen Niê again brought a message of solidarity from everyone to join the Government in achieving the goal of reducing net emissions to 0 - net zero by 2050.
"The net zero goal is a journey that requires the support and efforts of the whole community. Protecting the environment and practicing a green lifestyle is not the responsibility of any single person.
Not only do businesses need to change, but each individual has a role to play in building a sustainable future, aiming for the opportunity of a better living environment for future generations," she shared.
H'Hen also said that she always shares and spreads information about the forest planting programs she participates in as well as always encourages young people to live green.
At the same time, she believes that it is the responsibility of young people to proactively learn to better understand the responsibility of protecting the environment, to know what they must do to contribute to building a green Vietnam.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho, Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, said that in the context of increasingly serious climate change, environmental pollution and biodiversity loss, only the pioneering and creative efforts of young people can bring about real change.
Small actions such as limiting the use of plastic bags, participating in forest and ocean protection activities, or participating in recycling movements are all bricks that lay the foundation for a sustainable Vietnam.
Media is the bridge for green action

Speaking at the Green Vietnam Festival, journalist Le The Chu, editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper, shared a shocking number: every minute, up to 20 tons of plastic are dumped into the ocean and Vietnam is currently among the countries that emit the most plastic.
This situation is not just a dry number, but a warning of an increasingly serious environmental crisis.
Faced with that risk, Tuoi Tre newspaper, PRO Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union have coordinated to carry out the "Green Vietnam" movement to encourage the community to take action for the environment.
Mr. Chu emphasized that the media is not only a tool for spreading information but also a channel to inspire and promote action.
Each article and each media campaign are building blocks for public awareness, encouraging people to give up the habit of using disposable plastic and take small actions such as sorting trash.
Promoting a green economy is everyone's responsibility.
Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc Trai, Chairman of the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam), assessed the Green Vietnam Festival as an extremely important event in the Green Vietnam project with the message of promoting a circular economy.
The event, held at the Youth Cultural House in the city center, attracted a large number of people and young people to participate, and will be an opportunity to raise awareness among the community, especially young people, about classifying, collecting, and recycling packaging and waste.
"Promoting a green economy, aiming for sustainable development and promoting a circular economy is not the responsibility of any one person, but requires the cooperation of all parties, working together to bring about widespread value, all for the goal of a green, clean and beautiful Vietnam," said Mr. Trai.
