Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province Pham Dang Khoa - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam of Dak Lak province chaired the press conference and admitted that due to having to print tens of thousands of exam papers, some exam papers at some testing locations were faulty.

According to Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, this is an unfortunate incident, however, the error was only due to the blurred printing of 1 to 3 questions in an exam. The Dak Lak Provincial Exam Steering Committee has reported to the National Steering Committee for handling cases where candidates receive exam papers with errors. The handling method will be to give the highest score of 0.2 points for each error.

Mr. Pham Dang Khoa also admitted that some testing sites did not properly handle the process when discovering errors in the test, and there were cases where candidates still had to take the test on the faulty test.

Not satisfied with the response of the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, some newspaper reporters cited some exam questions with much more serious errors than the information from the Dak Lak education sector.

Accordingly, not only are they blurred, many positions on some exam papers have errors in both Vietnamese writing style and mathematical notation. When reading the questions, students are psychologically forced to guess what the words mean, which affects their exam results. Errors in the exam papers will cause severe psychological stress, affecting not only math but also subsequent subjects.

“At the Cu M'Gar High School exam site, there was a case where exam code 119, Math subject had an error on one page, from top to bottom, starting from question number 12. The head of the exam site as well as the Examination Council there did not provide a solution. And the students had to do the test on that exam,” Cao Nguyen reporter, Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper cited an exam code with a much more serious error than reported by the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province.

At the same time, newspaper reporters also raised suspicions that at some testing sites, teachers confiscated faulty test papers from candidates after the math exam ended.

“I received feedback from the Hong Duc School Examination Council that the candidates said that after finishing the Math exam, the invigilators took the exam papers away, which resulted in them not being able to take the exam papers home to compare. There were questions that the students could not do, but the invigilators told them to just randomly circle the answers to finish the exam. The fact that the students had to randomly circle the answers on the incorrect exam papers could affect their exam results. We request the Department to check and re-evaluate this information,” reporter Thuy Diem, Dan Tri Newspaper, informed the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province.

Receiving information from the press, Mr. Pham Dang Khoa said that he will continue to check and review errors in the exam papers. At the same time, the Dak Lak education sector will check which schools collect exam papers from candidates in violation of regulations to handle the responsibility of related individuals and groups.

VOV.VN - This afternoon, after finishing the final exam of the 2024 high school graduation exam, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province held a press conference about the incident of the math exam being suspected of having a printing error, causing difficulties for candidates.
