For example, in question d (reading comprehension), the test writer was very careful in the use of words, not using "agree or not" in the familiar way of asking, but using "do you like" or not. This way of asking will open up a lot of opportunities for candidates to answer. But most of the answers only stop at explaining that no one is the same, each person is an individual, but do not expand on the answer (for example: affirming oneself in life, contributing to creating richness and diversity for life, society, the world...).

In the social argument question, the openness is also very high, because the candidate argues according to the given title "If good thoughts are not expressed in words...". "Words" here are very broad, they can be words of thanks, apologies, compliments, love... But many essays are limited to one meaning (mostly "thank you"), some analyze Le Minh Quoc's poem, some stray into the topic of help from others. Therefore, the candidate has not seen the subtlety of this question.

With the literature essay question (questions 3 and 4 points), both questions 1 and 2 allow candidates to choose texts outside the curriculum. This is a very good idea of ​​the exam, aiming to help students approach the innovation of the literature exam according to the new curriculum. However, according to the examiners, there have not been any "brave" essays that choose texts outside the textbook because they do not dare to take risks, are afraid of making mistakes, and the idea of ​​​​"what you learn will be tested" still weighs heavily on students' minds.

The way these two literary essay topics ask is also very new: Think about the patriotism of Vietnamese people and want to sing praises to that love. From there, show the impact of the stanza/poem on yourself (topic 1); Think about family affection through a piece of text or work. Thereby, share a few things about how you talk and understand, how to read the work (topic 2). However, this very new requirement has not been "sympathetic" to the candidates. Most students do the test in a very academic way at school, which is to analyze the work by theme (patriotism or family). It is rare to see a candidate doing the extended requirements of the topic. As for the part "share a few things about how to read the work" in the requirement of topic 2, no essay mentions it.
