The school reserves admission quotas based on the TestAS (Test for Academic Studies) score, which includes a Core Test and a Subject Specific Test. This is a test to assess the university study ability of foreign students in Germany.

Schools that organize entrance exams to assess ability and thinking all affirm that candidates do not need to go to exam preparation centers, but instead review the knowledge learned in the high school program, especially grade 12 knowledge.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2022, schools will reserve more than 30,000 admission quotas based on scores from competency and thinking assessment exams. The admission rate by this method accounts for about 2% of the total number of candidates admitted by all methods.
Experts predict that the aptitude and thinking assessment test will be larger in scale and used by more schools by 2025 - when the high school graduation exam changes to suit the new general education program.
