According to initial information, at around 11:30 a.m. on March 28, people heard a loud explosion, a column of smoke tens of meters high, and a burning smell coming from a kiosk at Tu Thong market, Tu Thong residential area, Tu Minh ward (Hai Duong city).

The explosion grew louder and louder, and the column of fire burned fiercely. People around the area shouted to put out the fire and informed the authorities. After a few minutes, the authorities dispatched fire trucks and officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.
By around 12 o'clock the same day, the fire was extinguished. Electricity workers were also present to promptly fix the electrical problem. The fire caused no human casualties.

The initial cause was determined by local residents to be an electrical short circuit. About four kiosks containing many items were burned down, with some of the roofs collapsing. The electrical wiring system near some kiosks was also charred black.
The fire was extinguished in time so it did not spread to inhabited areas.

It is known that this kiosk belongs to Mr. Le Van Dung (born in 1988), residing in Tu Thong residential area, Tu Minh ward. The kiosk is where Mr. Dung stores construction materials.
