According to the decision of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industry and Trade, from 3:00 p.m. today (January 11), E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 35 VND/liter, the new price is 21,041 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 19 VND/liter, to 21,935 VND/liter; diesel increased by 339 VND/liter, the new price is 19,707 VND/liter.
In addition, kerosene increased by 374 VND/liter, the new price is 20,331 VND/liter, while mazut increased by 320 VND/kg, to 15,815 VND/kg.
Regarding the price stabilization fund (BOG), the joint ministries decided to set aside 300 VND/kg for fuel oil (as in the previous period), not to set aside the BOG fund for gasoline, diesel oil and kerosene; and not to use the BOG fund for all gasoline products.
According to a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the above-mentioned plan to manage gasoline prices aims to contribute to ensuring fluctuations in domestic gasoline prices and is basically consistent with fluctuations in world gasoline prices.
Along with that, the joint ministries continue to maintain the price difference between E5 RON92 biofuel and RON95 mineral gasoline at a reasonable level to encourage the use of biofuels according to the Government's policy, ensuring the harmony of interests among market participants.
On the side of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), up to the time before price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,055 billion VND.
Previously, on January 4, after setting aside the price stabilization fund, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND180/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND232/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND420/liter; kerosene decreased by VND500 and fuel oil decreased by VND190/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, which was recently issued by the Government on November 17, the period for managing petroleum prices will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.
In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday falls on the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday falls on the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
