Barcelona reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in four years.
At Barcelona's home ground, Napoli were underestimated but were the better team in the first half. In the 4th minute, Victor Osimhen had a chance to face the goalkeeper. However, his shot was not difficult enough to beat Ter Stegen.
In a losing position, Barcelona unexpectedly found opportunities from counter-attacks, when the opponent's defense was high. Raphinha's speed became the key to help the La Liga representative make a difference.
In the 15th minute, the former Leeds player broke through on the right wing and then passed the ball back to Fermin Lopez to score against Napoli. Just 2 minutes later, Raphinha continued with a breakthrough on the left wing. His shot hit the post but Joao Cancelo was there at the right time to score the rebound, doubling the gap for the "Blaugrana".
Barca took advantage of the opportunity to enter the Champions League quarter-finals.
In the remaining minutes, Napoli pressed forward to attack. Goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen had an excellent day with many difficult saves. However, he was still helpless against Amir Rrahmani's tricky shot from the second line in the 30th minute. The first half ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of Barcelona.
In the second half, Napoli could no longer maintain the initiative. The Serie A representative had to brace themselves against Barcelona's wave-like attacks, and then officially collapsed in the 83rd minute. The red and blue striped army bounced to the edge of the goal, before finishing off their opponents with a close-range shot from Robert Lewandowski.
After the aggregate score was raised to 4-2, Napoli pressed forward to attack. However, the only mark of the away team was Giacomo Raspadori's shot that hit the crossbar in the 89th minute.
The final whistle also saw Barcelona qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since Lionel Messi left.
