Exploiting the advantages of geographical location, traffic infrastructure, natural resources, Dam Ha district is actively promoting investment attraction, applying science and technology to production, developing high-tech agriculture. Thereby, increasing production value, raising income for people, step by step construction modern agriculture

The project of producing shrimp seed and raising commercial shrimp with high technology in greenhouses (phase 1) with an area of 38.5 hectares of Viet Uc - Quang Ninh Seafood Company Limited is the "nucleus" in the high-tech aquaculture agricultural zone of Dam Ha district. The company has put into use 24 larval nursery production houses, water treatment plants with advanced technology, disease testing rooms, operating high-tech commercial shrimp farming models in greenhouses... This is the only unit in the province to be granted a certificate of disease safety in the aquaculture sector. Currently, the unit supplies 1.4 billion shrimp seeds each year to Quang Ninh and the North.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, CEO of Viet Uc - Quang Ninh Seafood Company Limited, said: Promoting the core role in the high-tech aquaculture agricultural zone, the unit is researching genetic codes, breeding parent shrimp, producing white-leg shrimp breeds with superior characteristics, suitable for the natural conditions, soil and climate of Quang Ninh. Along with that, the unit coordinates with Dam Ha district to learn, visit, research and produce some types of mollusk breeds suitable for the local advantages, serving the development of aquaculture, increasing the value of the agricultural sector, such as: Cockles, oysters, abalone...
In the field of livestock, the district has a number of high-tech production models, typically: The Dam Ha chicken linkage production model of Tuyen Hien Cooperative. The unit has invested in a system of cold barns, incubators, brooding pens... to raise parent chickens; applying artificial insemination technology in breeding. Currently, the Cooperative supplies the market with 200,000-250,000 Dam Ha chicken breeds each year. At the same time, it has linked with over 80 households raising chickens in the district to raise commercial chickens in an organic direction, creating jobs for workers, stably supplying 200,000-250,000 chickens each year.

The district is also coordinating with relevant units to complete the high-tech agricultural project for aquaculture in Dam Ha with a scale of 399.6 hectares, total investment of over 4,071 billion VND and the high-tech agricultural project for dairy farming in Dam Ha with a scale of 350 hectares, total investment of over 3,304 billion VND to report and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval. The projects, once approved, will be an important foundation to attract investment resources for high-tech agriculture, promote the development of concentrated commodity production, and form a chain linking production, processing, and product consumption.
At the same time, the district continues to promote attracting businesses, improving the business investment environment, administrative reform, providing maximum support for high-tech investment enterprises; regularly grasping, exchanging and removing difficulties, promptly advising on resolving shortcomings, creating maximum conditions for businesses to invest.
The application of high technology in agricultural production is a new field, not only investing capital in implementation but also changing the traditional production mindset to a new production method, converting from "chemical" agriculture to modern agriculture. Thereby, contributing to making Dam Ha a key area for high-tech agricultural production; producing breeds and raising aquatic products; producing and processing agricultural and seafood products to supply tourist areas, economic zones and export according to Resolution of the 25th Congress of the Dam Ha District Party Committee.
Mr. Tran Anh Cuong, Vice Chairman of Dam Ha District People's Committee, said: To become a key area for high-tech agricultural production, the district proposed that the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches promptly report and submit to the Prime Minister for approval of high-tech agricultural zone projects as a basis for attracting investment from enterprises in the area; remove difficulties in implementing policies to support production development projects; create conditions for implementing science transfer models to expand production.
