Korean Gastronomy Week is an annual event held in Hanoi with the aim of bringing Korean culinary culture closer to international friends. Following the success of the previous 3 seasons, Korean Gastronomy Week 2023 officially returns with the theme of Autumn Forest, exploiting and creating unique dishes from typical ingredients of Korean mountains and forests.

The opening ceremony of the event on November 30, 2023 was attended by Mr. Choi Young-sam - Ambassador of Korea to Vietnam, Mr. Park Min-cheol - Director of Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Products Distribution Corporation in ASEAN and senior representatives from InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72.

This event aims to promote Korean agricultural and forestry products to consumers by introducing a special menu from a 2-star Michelin chef. In order to bring a complete cultural and culinary experience, diners will be immersed in the traditional Korean art space. Artists from the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam will bring a true “taste-hear-see” party when combining cuisine with traditional Korean music.

Mr. Choi Young-sam - Ambassador of Korea to Vietnam happily expressed at the event: " The participants of today's event will contribute to promoting Korean cuisine to the Vietnamese people, to promote trade and enhance cultural exchange between the two countries. I hope that you will do this together ."

Chef Lee Jun - a 2-star Michelin chef from Korea will be the accompanying chef throughout the event. Through studying and working at various Michelin restaurants of famous chefs in the US, he has had the opportunity to accumulate a lot of culinary experience from world-famous chefs.

Lee Jun's cooking style reflects his diverse international experience, blending Korean cooking techniques as well as Korean food culture. His culinary approach is a unique combination of flavors, ingredients, and especially the Korean cultural experience in food.

During the Korean Food Week, he will introduce special dishes such as Deodeok Salad, Flounder and Doraji (Platycodon grandiflorum), Abalone and Miyeok, Duck Breast with Yakbap and Beef Chui Namul. He delicately combines typical ingredients from the Korean mountains and forests in each dish, helping to elevate both their flavor and nutritional value.

Following the success of previous years, Korean Food Week 2023 continues to receive a lot of positive attention from the domestic and foreign business community. In particular, the event promises to bring diners the excitement of experiencing Korean cuisine right in Vietnam through a series of special 10-day events.

Exciting event series featuring talented chefs and bartenders

- Soko Night features guest bartender Son Soko - a renowned mixologist who can whip up classic cocktails and create premium drinks to suit every guest's needs.

- Korean Whiskey Blending Class led by Bryan Do, founder and owner of Ki One Whiskey, with stories about the pure spirit produced entirely in Korea, the journey of building the Three Societies distillery and the experience of creating Korea's first single malt whiskey.

- Namul making class with "San Namul Bibimbab" with Master Chef Choi Hyangran - owner of "Imgumnim Ssalbabjib" and member of the Royal Korean Culinary Institute.

- Kimchi making class with "Dry Persimmon Bossam Kimchi & Suyuk" by Master Chef Lee Sunhee.

- “Hankwa” dessert making class taught by chef Kang Hyo Sung, owner of the famous Korean dessert restaurant “Mi Jung Dang” and director of Korean red ginseng drink Gaesung Chanpumbyeonggwajang.

Korean Gastronomy Week 2023 will take place from November 30 to December 9 at the InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 Hotel, bringing together top-class chefs and bartenders from Korea, promising to bring diners unforgettable experiences with the cuisine and culture of the "land of kimchi".
