(CLO) In recent days, on the television platforms FPT Play, TV360 and MyTV, channels VTV2 and VTV3 of Vietnam Television are no longer on the list. Regarding this, Vietnam Television (VTV) has just responded.
Accordingly, in recent times, VTV has continuously invested to improve the quality of content, while proactively distributing content on many platforms, from traditional television platforms to the national digital television platform VTVgo. In addition to VTV1, which is an essential, free-to-air television channel, VTV also provides channel packages from VTV2 to VTV9, VTV Can Tho and has cooperated with television service providers under broadcasting contracts for many years.

VTV channel packages are always the basic channel packages of all television services, playing an important role in attracting subscribers and bringing in large revenues for telecommunications enterprises. However, the copyright fees that television service providers are paying to VTV do not reflect the true value that VTV content brings to pay television units.
Also according to the announcement from VTV, "with the goal of ensuring harmony between the content value, investment costs of VTV with the interests of the audience and businesses, since the end of November 2024, VTV has started working and discussing with pay TV service providers on a new cooperation model. Up to now, many units have agreed with VTV on cooperation to continue broadcasting. For units that have not yet reached an agreement, VTV does not have the necessary legal basis to maintain signal provision for the entire VTV channel package".
Negotiations are still ongoing in the hope of soon reaching a fair and harmonious agreement for the common good.
At the same time, the entire VTV channel package is still being maintained on national digital television platforms such as VTVgo, the DVB-T2 system (a method of transmitting digital terrestrial broadcasting in the form of advertising, free of charge for all TVs manufactured from 2020 onwards), as well as pay TV systems that have reached agreements with VTV.
