Emulation Congress of "Exemplary Veterans" of Nga Son district, period 2019-2024

On July 17, the Nga Son District Veterans Association organized the "Exemplary Veterans" Emulation Congress for the 2019-2024 period.

Attending the congress were leaders of the Provincial War Veterans Association; leaders of Nga Son district, agencies, departments, branches, unions in the district and typical delegates representing nearly 8,000 war veterans across the district.

Implementing the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" in the period of 2019-2024, the war veterans association at all levels in Nga Son district has been active and proactive in implementing the set emulation targets. Over the past 5 years, the movement has motivated cadres and members to complete the set tasks and targets and achieved important results.

The entire association has 636 members who are party members elected to the Party Committee and hold positions in the Party (including 368 cell committee members; 221 secretaries and deputy secretaries of the Party cells; 145 executive committee members, 26 secretaries and deputy secretaries of the grassroots Party committees; 9 members of the district Party Executive Committee; 215 delegates of the People's Council. The association has 2,742 war veteran members participating in the social security and order teams; 143 shock teams "Self-managed war veteran roads for traffic safety"; 119 shock teams on "Security and order"; 122 war veteran members participating in the militia and self-defense forces and 564 war veteran members and former soldiers participating in the reserve force...

Implementing the movement "CCB help each other reduce poverty, do good business", many members have boldly invested and linked up with high economic efficiency. Up to now, 115 members have built net houses and greenhouses, the whole district has 54 farms, 544 households, 7 enterprises, 3 cooperatives owned by CCB, creating jobs and stable income for 1,232 children of CCB and local people.

To help members borrow capital to invest in production from various sources, the association has received a trust from the Social Policy Bank with a balance of 90,784 billion VND. The association's fund at the grassroots level has supported members to borrow more than 9 billion VND... from this capital source, it has helped members develop production and escape poverty. In 5 years, it has helped 254 member households escape poverty, exceeding the target by 0.4%, the number of well-off and rich households increased to 63.48% (exceeding 13.48%).

With the spirit of solidarity, love and mutual assistance, the association at all levels has mobilized members to build the association fund in many forms such as self-payment, labor to build welfare works and dredging canals, planting rice... Up to now, 100% of the association bases have funds for operation, with a total amount of 9.2 billion VND; the Comradeship Fund is 370 million VND.

In particular, implementing the movement of helping each other to eliminate dilapidated and degraded houses, the association has called on benefactors and businesses to support and mobilize members to donate money and working days to repair and build 18 new houses, worth 550 million VND. The association's organization has been increasingly consolidated and strengthened, in 5 years it has recruited 465 members, bringing the total number of members to 7,706 (reaching a rate of 98.3%), operating in 172 branches of 28 association bases.

On this occasion, individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement received certificates of merit from the Chairman of Nga Son District People's Committee.

At the Congress, delegates discussed the results achieved in the 2019-2024 period, shared good and effective models and practices in implementing the emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans", and agreed on targets and launched the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans" for the 2024-2029 period.

With the spirit of "Loyalty - Solidarity - Exemplary - Innovation", the Congress voted to elect 5 delegates to participate in the Provincial "Exemplary War Veterans" Patriotic Emulation Congress, period 2019-2024.

On this occasion, 5 collectives and 8 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee; 13 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the District War Veterans Association for their outstanding achievements in implementing the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans" in the period 2019-2024.
