The 11th Congress of Delegates of the Sa Pa Town Farmers' Association, term 2023

On June 12, Sa Pa Town Farmers' Association held the 11th Congress of Delegates, term 2023 - 2028.

Attending the event were 150 delegates who were officials and typical farmer members representing nearly 9,000 farmer members in the entire town.

During the past term, the Farmers' Association of Sa Pa town has been active, proactive, and creative in innovating the content and methods of operation. The association's grassroots units have recruited 1,265 members, bringing the total number of members in the town to nearly 9,000; newly established and maintained the activities of 39 branches and professional farmer associations, with 467 members.

The Farmers' Association of Sa Pa town has promoted the restructuring of production into two groups: key provincial products and key local products. Up to now, Sa Pa town has 70 hectares of vegetables of all kinds certified by VietGAP, with an output of 2,200 tons/year; 1.5 hectares certified by organic standards; 50 hectares of artichokes, with an output of 2,000 tons; 0.2 hectares of cold-water fish certified by VietGAP, with an output of about 30 tons/year.

The entire town has 1,340 farming households meeting the criteria for good production and business at all levels, accounting for 12.79% of agricultural and rural households. Over the past 5 years, members and farmers have donated nearly 19 hectares of land and contributed more than 20,440 laborers to open new and upgrade more than 126 km of rural roads; build new, repair, upgrade, and solidify 50 irrigation works, with a length of nearly 99 km; remove 363 temporary and dilapidated houses; renovate and upgrade 2,103 houses...

Delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee of the Sa Pa Town Farmers' Association for the 2023-2028 term.

In the 2023 - 2028 term, the Farmers' Association of Sa Pa town sets 16 targets, including: Every year, 100% of cadres, members, and farmers are propagandized and disseminated the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State, the province, and Resolutions of the Farmers' Association at all levels; 100% of the association bases regularly maintain the application of information technology and social networks in activities and organization of activities to the branches and groups; every year, over 95% of the branches and associations complete their tasks well or better; each association base builds 2 - 3 new models of branches and groups of professional farmers operating effectively in the form of value chain linkage and cooperation; by 2028, over 25% of agricultural households will be able to borrow capital to develop production through funds and credit organizations of the association organization...

The new Executive Committee was introduced to the Congress.

The Congress elected 27 comrades to the new Executive Committee; elected a delegation to attend the 11th Congress of Lao Cai Provincial Farmers' Association, term 2023 - 2028.

On this occasion, the Town People's Committee awarded 8 collectives and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work and farmers' movement for the 2023-2028 term. (Photo above)
