(NADS) - On November 8, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Da Nang city solemnly held the 8th Congress, term 2024 - 2029.
This is the General Assembly of all members of the Da Nang City Association of Fine Arts according to Resolution 178/NQ-BCH dated August 19, 2024 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts on organizing the Congress of grassroots branches, towards the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts, term 2025-2030.
Attending the Congress were: Artist Huynh Anh, Member of the Executive Committee, Head of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; Poet Nguyen Nho Khiem - Permanent Vice President of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang City; Mr. Dinh Van Dung - Head of the Department of Science, Education - Culture and Arts, Propaganda Department of the Da Nang City Party Committee; Ms. Phan Le Quynh Anh - Deputy Head of the Department of Cultural Management, Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City; Painter Ho Dinh Nam Kha - Member of the Standing Committee, Chief of Office of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Da Nang City; Representatives of the Executive Committee of the Da Nang Art Photography Association, the Board of Directors of the Da Nang Photography Club, the Han River Art Photography Club, the City Press Photo Club; Journalists of Photography and Life Magazine, Da Nang Newspaper, Non Nuoc - Van Nghe Da Nang Magazine attended and reported on the Congress.
The Congress listened to the Executive Committee of the Branch approve the summary report, task directions, Financial Report and Review Report of the Executive Committee of the past term; participated in discussions and contributed comments to the documents of the 10th National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts, term 2025-2030.
During the 2019-2024 term, the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts in the city has achieved many proud achievements and results, including: a total of 470 awards, including 20 city-level awards, 15 regional and ministerial awards, 13 national awards and 416 international awards. The 4th Da Nang City Literature and Arts Award: 6 awards (01 A-class award, 02 B-class awards, 02 C-class awards, 01 encouragement award). Over the years, the Association has always achieved many high awards, winning the Gold Medal for 3 consecutive years, and many consecutive years winning the Team Award at the South Central and Central Highlands Regional Art Photography Festivals.
Organized many creative sessions, professional training sessions, and exhibitions: Organized 09 creative field trips (7 days each session) in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands provinces and Ly Son Island, Quang Ngai province. 3 seminars, creative camps, and photography training sessions including: seminar "Methods of discovering topics in Artistic Photography" - reporter NSNA Le Xuan Thang; creative camp "Black and white photography techniques and photo series structure in artistic photography" - reporter NSNA Ly Hoang Long; and training session "Methods of composing and expressing Artistic Photo Series" - reporter NSNA Hoang Trung Thuy. Organized the photo exhibition "March Reunion", commemorating the 69th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Photography (March 15, 1953 - March 15, 2022) of photography artists and photographers in Da Nang city and neighboring province of Quang Nam; Photo exhibition "Da Nang - Achievements and Aspirations" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam's traditional photography day (March 15, 1953 - March 15, 2023).
After voting, the Congress elected the new Executive Committee for the term (2024-2029) consisting of 3 people: NSNA Than Nguyen was elected as Branch Head, NSNA Nguyen Van Thanh and NSNA Nguyen Quang were elected as Branch Vice Presidents.
The congress also elected 10 people to attend the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts to be held in 2025.
