Da Nang will have a smart airport terminal

DNVN - On the afternoon of April 22, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) held a ceremony to announce development cooperation with FPT Software Company Limited (FPT Software) to develop the first smart airport terminal model in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Do Trong Hau - Deputy General Director of AHT, the cooperation between Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) and FPT Software (under FPT Group) aims to promote digital transformation in the short term and towards comprehensive modernization in the long term.

Mr. Do Trong Hau (right) and Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong represented the signing of the cooperation agreement between AHT and FPT Software on the afternoon of April 22.

“The announcement and signing ceremony held on the afternoon of April 22 at the T2 international terminal of Da Nang airport is an event marking the cooperation between AHT and FPT Software on the journey to develop the first smart airport terminal model in Vietnam, aiming to optimize check-in time and improve passenger experience,” Mr. Do Trong Hau emphasized.

Accordingly, in the second quarter of 2024, the two sides will deploy and are expected to complete in October 2024 the installation of an AI camera system at aviation check-in areas to assess crowding density, thereby supporting the operations department to quickly detect hot spots in real time and provide effective solutions.

Deploying additional mobile applications to provide smart support solutions such as departure status notifications, determining current location on the map, etc. Building a new website aiming at the most convenient experience for users in looking up and searching for multilingual information.

At the same time, additional assessment and information search systems using touch devices are installed throughout the station to promptly support information search needs. The system also has the function of collecting opinions and assessments, helping the station receive problems that passengers are facing, thereby making timely improvement plans.

Mr. Do Trong Hau shared: “The success or failure of digital transformation projects does not depend on the technology chosen but on how the technology is used. Therefore, instead of choosing available solutions on the market, AHT chose to cooperate with FPT Software to develop its own solutions, optimally meeting and closely following the actual needs at the T2 international terminal of Da Nang airport”.

Representing FPT Software, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong - Chairman of FPT Software Central region committed to long-term cooperation with AHT to successfully develop the smart airport terminal model at Da Nang international airport, creating all favorable conditions for AHT in the process of researching, installing, testing and operating this model.
